Re: SBUS does not work

Mine behave exactly the same. Fr'Sky say once they sync they are OKay., but I am a little nervous of trusting them in a large model.

Yes that will be an old version. According to Fr'Sky the change was "the middle of September".

Re: SBUS does not work

Darn! I have one of the first ones and don't know if it's worth trying to get aloft to replace it especially if the latest ones are in trouble also. I may just write it off and salvage the parts and cables for the parts box. Maybe wait 6mo and try again? I'm assuming Frsky will have to solve this a...

Re: SBUS does not work

I'm quite confident that the last two I bought work as they should. Tom I'm now finding the SBUS a bit flakey and wouldn't trust it in a largish model. I find I have to switch the RX on and of a number of times before it syncs. Sometimes at switch on it actually operates the wrong channels, sometim...

Re: Replacement Battery For FrSky Taranis

I think I will go for the 6 ni-mh solution, with the turnigy 2400mah. My taranis has not arrived yet from hobbyking, it should be a B version, will it contain the first 800mah battery or the new 2000mah, in which case no need for a replacement battery? Re: SBUS does not work

Update: I bought two more Decoders and they arrived today. They are dated 20/08/2013. I have just gave them a quick test and they seem to be okay. At least they haven't got the problem I had with the first two. The LEDs work as the instructions. That is they flash when active, whereas the other two ...

Bluetooth for TX announcements

Has anyone successfully set up a Bluetooth link from the Taranis to an earpiece?
I bought a BT Tx to plug into the headphone output and an earpiece. However I can't get them to pair. The earpiece seems to recognise the TX and switches to normal mode, but The TX stays in pairing mode.

Use a 5 point curve set as below: X. Y 1 -100. 100 2. -50. -100 3. 0. -100 4. 50. -100 5. 100. 100 Which will give you a plant pot shaped curve. Set the delay in mixes to 8 seconds ( you can adjust it later if it is to slow or fast. This will give 2 seconds for door to travel down, 4 second window f...

I filed the centre notch a little deeper and bent the friction strip and it has improved mine, but you do it at your own risk.

Re: SBUS does not work

I'll order the changer along with a new decoder when I know it's all working? I'm not sure when to do that? Do you think the one you have will be fixable with a FW upgrade or will it require a replacement under warranty if Frsky will honor it? Fr'Sky say they should be ok now, as long as the date o...

Re: SBUS does not work

Yes you need the Channel Changer. Have a good look for the date, I believe it should be on the same side the wires come out of, but is difficult to see being dark on a black background. The ones depicted on the HobbyKing site don't have wires soldered on, they have pins to take servo plugs. I don't ...

Re: SBUS does not work

Decoders that are not dated were produced before April 2013. Mine are not dated, so that is probably the reason for my problem.

Re: SBUS does not work

I emailed Eva on Friday, but haven't received a reply yet. I also posted on the Fr'Sky forum yesterday. I received a reply, which suggested I reduced the throws and moved the centre in "SERVOS". I reduced the throws to 75 both sides on a setup I just had a single switch on CH15. When I swi...

Re: SBUS does not work

I've just had a quick look at setting the decoder using the RX. The manual says "connect the SBUS port's signal pin and RSSI port's signal pin via provided cable" , no cable was provided with either of my Decoders. I would think the cable is just a simple lead with a servo type (male) plu...

Re: SBUS does not work

Moved gear mix to CH 8, so it is no longer set to Sbus. Set up AIL on CH15 and it works, but it was rather strange. Sbus didn't initialize until I moved the Aileron stick. I tried switching off and on a few times and it was the same every time. Previously when Sbus worked it initialized on switch on...

Re: SBUS does not work

I've just tried deleting all mixes that I had on Sbus except for Ch15 and Sbus doesn't work. I moved the mix to CH14 and Sbus worked. I then moved it to Ch16 and it doesn't work.

Re: SBUS does not work

I have just been looking on the Fr'Sky forum and may have found the answer, at least to some of the problems, but not sure if it would be the reason for mine. It would appear the early decoders have a problem with X8R receivers.

So on that logic.... The actual rf transmit power on the tx is in effect always retrieved from the RX? Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk now Free Not nessasarialy so. It could be the TX sets it's output during the bind. Is it factual that the USA power output is greater than the European output?...

Re: SBUS does not work

I've just tried the above and if you leave the RX, with the decoders attached, switched on whilst you set up the mixes, it works , but once the RX is power cycled it stops working. Power cycling the Tx has no effect, if the Sbus is working it still works and if it isn't working it still won't work. ...

Re: SBUS does not work

Looks that might be the case. One thing I havn't tried yet is setting up the decoders for the oposite set of channels. That is the decoder now set for CHs 9 to 12 set to CHs 13 to 16 and the other one the other way. This would show if the problem was just down to one faulty decoder, or a problem wit...
