Re: Introducing: TelemetrEZ
Thanks Gohst and Steven! Hey, I am perfectly willing to accept that it is on my end and that I am and/or did something wrong, and that it 'couldn't possibly be' that one works and not the other, however, I have experienced some fluky things in my time (I seem to attract those situations even), but I...

Re: Introducing: TelemetrEZ
...just wondering now if r76 is so "unstable" that it is unwise to use it? Would I have noticed something 'bad' already after a half-dozen flights? I assume the tEZ and its firmware only direct the functioning of the telemetry and can't/won't mess with flight controls, correct? The only th...

Re: Introducing: TelemetrEZ
..this is funny :) @ s_mack, I guess the point is that one works for me and not the other, so, if someone else is experiencing the same thing with r75, then try the one Rob posted, which I am told is r76... that's all. Being that r76 doesn't seem to be available on the google code page (that I saw, ...

Re: Introducing: TelemetrEZ
I'm pretty sure Rob is correct and you just attempted to flash the HTML page to your device and its not some issue with that version of the firmware or any given 9x release. The software just indicates that the operation completed successfully, not that you gave it the right file to flash :) ... I ...

Re: Problems with FrSky DHT install
@ twills, First, these other guys here are way more qualified to answer/assist, but just to confirm what Flaps30 wrote (and sorry I should have reported back to this thread), I did get my radio functioning with a new DHT module, but it still flashes 'orangy' when on, and only flashes 'red' and more ...

Re: Introducing: TelemetrEZ
@gohsthb, that's what I thought too, but I tried r75 several times following the instructions on that page (although my win7 only gives me a 'save link as...' option) and I couldn't get it to work in my Tx, but what Kilrah says is r76, the one that Rob provided in another thread, does work for me......

Re: Introducing: TelemetrEZ
Hmmm... well, curious that it would say it was successful loading a webpage into the tEZ... if you click on the link that I loaded, a hex file shows up, so I figured it was the .hex file and not the html that was saved when I did the 'save link as..." ...and actually, out of curiosity, I just o...

Re: Introducing: TelemetrEZ
...Ok, that's odd... I loaded the firmware several times (as administrator/as not) from this link: https://9x-telemetrez.googlecode.com/svn-history/r75/trunk/src/telemetrEZ.hex ...from this page: https://code.google.com/p/9x-telemetrez/ (I did 'save link as...') ...and it did not work. Then I tried ...

Re: Introducing: TelemetrEZ
...maybe I need to re-flash OpenTX now to recognize the changes in the tEZ firmware?
If so, can I save all the settings for my model beforehand?
Cheers!

Re: Introducing: TelemetrEZ
??? Just re-flashed the tEZ with v75, and it seems to have made the problem worse! Followed the instructions Steven sent me, Tx off, start t1634, plugin Tx (I have the Rev 2.4 board)... it loaded and said it was successful but when turning on the Tx, it now gives me the THR/AIL warning always (befor...

Re: Switches not recognized - stock 9XR/OpenTX
Steven from Smartieparts wrote me back (a very detailed, fast reply by the way) and stated that the switch warnings are a known issue on "some" 9x's and that if the switch warning goes away after 15 seconds (like mine does) it does not impede the proper functioning of the radio, which is e...

OHHH, need new FW for the Telemetrez board... that explains it... whew... SUPER!
Thanks again Rob... guess I have not been the only one experiencing this.
I will write Steve and get the details.
Cheers!

Re: Problems with FrSky DHT install
SWEET! Thanks Rob!
Now that is an upcoming update or an available one?
I ask because I just flashed today with OpenTX r2281 and the sp22 and telemetrz boxes ticked.
Cheers!

Re: Problems with FrSky DHT install
Ok... as Showmaster already knows, I ordered a new DHT (not wanting to hassle with HK over $20)... it got to me within a week, a week ago, but only today had time to install. Install went well and it fits better with the ground 'V' removed. SP 2.4 and TelemetrEZ are also installed. This time I have ...

Re: Switches not recognized - stock 9XR/OpenTX
So with the DHT DIY module installed via Smartieparts 2.4 and TelemetrEZ, running OpenTX r2281 with the TelemetrEZ and sp22 ticked on Companion9x, should I be seeing this same THR/AIL switch ALERT at power up? It goes away and the switches seem to work afterward, but it is kinda annoying, is this ju...

Re: Problems with FrSky DHT install
Some great tips guys! So, when I get the new DHT (Aloft Hobbies has it on the way today), I will re-install without the "metal V" (thanks SM), that will definitely make the install easier... and I imagine I will also never need (before the Taranis comes out) the 1 way or FW positions on th...

Re: Problems with FrSky DHT install
OK, bedtime, for me... and this issue... for now! Due to the kindness and camaraderie of ShowMaster (and the others here) I have decided to stay Open for as long as I can... wait for the Taranis (like everyone else, except Horus... I mean, João) and make fly with what I got. Also, I ordered a new DH...

Re: Problems with FrSky DHT install
Hey ShowMaster, Funny you mention that, I actually was just looking into the Taranis... sounds like a good set-up... and I assume I could still use the FrSky Rx I have already? And Thanks for tip on the $5 cover, I'll check it out. I'm not exactly "new" to all this, I worked electronic cou...

Re: Problems with FrSky DHT install
Well. I put the stock module back in (only had to re-solder then antenna wire), removed the TelemetrEZ and FRSky (obviously), re-burned the standard ER9x FW and... went flying... I couldn't deal with the FrSky issue anymore, I just wanted to fly my copter... ...so, just back in from a lovely sunset ...

Re: Problems with FrSky DHT install
So... am I safe to assume that I got a bad module and should contact Hobbyking for replacement? And if so, should I go for the DJT module instead (if they will let me apply the credit), I really don't care anymore if the antenna comes out of the module or the radio... and the holes I made, I can cov...

Re: Problems with FrSky DHT install
Well... it is actually bound right now... from the one time I got it to work, and all the lights did as they should according to the FrSky instructions... BUT, I can't get it to go onto that mode again (assuming that each time I start with the button depressed it will go into bind mode) Is there a w...

Re: Problems with FrSky DHT install
... yes it gives a nice little click, as if it is working as it should... I even tried pulling up on it while turning on the radio but same little beep... and Thanks, I did not know what the beep was to indicate, the FrSky instructions are not very detailed.

Re: Problems with FrSky DHT install
Rob, Yes it is in the 2-way position...
...also, i just removed the BIND/LED board and same result, beeps when it comes on and rapidly flashes and orangy-green... at least that is staying consistent
Could it just be that I got a bad DHT module?

Re: Problems with FrSky DHT install
Thanks Mike B, yeah I am going to take it back out again... and see how that could be... the button clicks just fine and I over-sized the hole a bit... but maybe it is a bad button or just ever so slightly depressed, I made stand offs for that reason, but who knows ???

Re: Problems with FrSky DHT install
Wow... you guys are on this... Thanks, and sorry for the "Ho" Rob. meant to write "Hi" :) Thanks Flaps, Yes I checked freedom of movement on the BIND button, seems fine unless the button is faulty, and YES, it does beep when turning on... and my firmware version is: SVN: er9x-r79...
