Re: Taranis X9D+ Spec Functions

Just had a similar problem ... followed by a "permissions" error ... turned out to be the SD card. The error made no sense to me, but when I pulled the card and plugged it into my computer I got an error notice. Did a repair on the SD card and it all came back to normal. No permissions err...

Re: FrSky Taranis plus sometime becoming suddenly mute

My problem was the SD card. I tested it extensively and it would read/write on my PC but I noticed an error-count which showed it had to reread the odd sector. My assumption is that OpenTX does not have the reread command and so, declares the failure and then no longer accesses the card. It shuts do...

Re: Unable to check for updates Ubuntu 16.04

Short of doing a complete Companion removal, followed by a purge command and then a reboot and reinstall not too many suggestions. I would for certain go looking for settings in the /.config/OpenTX directory before reinstalling as well and rename it OpenTX-old. In the terminal I do a complete "...

Thank you ... yes I realize I was mixing two issues, just I have really lost my trust in MAAC to protect the hobby I have loved for over 40 years. Showed up at what was my field and you can't fly with your Taranis because of bias, certification, insurance, ignorance ... choose one or all. Showed up ...

Re: Ic certification for canada

The whole process simply bogs down because it is impossible to approve literally everything that is coming out. So the "stickers" are often simply added as part of a very vague process. Remember, these are low transmitter power devices operating on a very public 2.4 mHz spectrum. It is the...

Just found this ... MAAC Policy and Procedures Document MPPD # 12 – Operation of R/C Equipment. 1. Canadian law requires that all commercially available radio control systems used in Canada on the license-free bands must be certified by Industry Canada (IC). Certification essentially involves testin...

This discussion comes up time and time again. You might be surprised how few transmitters and telemetry-transmitting receivers actually are ISED certified. Do the search yourself at: https://sms-sgs.ic.gc.ca/equipmentSearch/searchRadioEquipments?execution=e1s1&lang=en Having regulations and enfo...

I have triggered lighting sequences and servos using Arduino fired from a Frsky receiver. You are not alone. I upgraded one of my Dell systems to Windows 10 and have had no luck getting the driver to install ... and my world is IT. After many hours I gave up completely. The good news is, I have a whole raft of older systems all running Linux (mostly Ubuntu Mate & Ubuntu) and the soft...

Re: please explain... "limits"

The advantage of flashing (for exanple to OpenTX 2.1.9) is that you will have the essentially the most bug-free version of the firmware. The other advantage is that you can have access to software such as CompanionTX. I rarely edit any models on my transmitter anymore. I use Companion and then, usin...

Re: please explain... "limits"

I very quickly dumped the factor firmware in favor of OpenTX. (The factory is an off-shoot that has not been updated) With OpenTX there are some amazing manuals that will literally walk you through most of the issues you are asking about. The advantage of the open systems is the multiple ways to do ...

I always verify the SD card outside of the system. In my case it was a defective card. Went to open-txu.org, downloaded the new sounds etc., followed the notes there are created a new card. No problems since. I also upgraded to the newer 2.1.x firmware directly from the card initially ... been using...

Invariably ... yes. I can't list the number of times something does not install properly on a Windows-based machine (my long running Bluetooth modules are DOA with Windows 10, same for two of my USB keys). Re: Taranis not connecting to Companion 2.1/PC

One thing you can do is use the Device Manager to delete all of the USB ports. Power down, reboot and they will be restored in as-good-as-new condition. Any pre-existing drivers will be removed. Now try your Taranis. It should bring down any drivers needed and you should see everything that is happe...

Website building is no longer a black art ... but you have to select your host very carefully. There are many companies out there ... personally, I am partial to Wordpress (http://wordpress.org) for the non-technical user and if you go that way, you select a host that will handle it. Re: Convert Receiver channels to PPM with arduino

There are several drag and drop coding visual programs out there. If you can describe what you want to do in detail, the actual code wireframes out quickly. If you can describe exactly what you want to happen, and when it is to happen, and when it is to no longer happen you are literally a few steps...

Change the firmware ... absolutely change the firmware. Consider CompanionTX and OpenTX 2.0.17 since there is greater documentation AND the advanced features in 2.1 will probably not make a difference to you. Find R. Scott Pages YouTube videos and watch them. Learn to use CompanionTX and you will sa...

I found that 22.5 @ 400 U.S. was more stable ... AND set all the server throws to +/- 80% (even ch6)

Make sure the polarity is Negative

Channel 2 & 4 are INV

Mix CH6 -> SF Weight (+100%) Switch(!SC¥) NoTrim. .... ¥=down arrow

Good luck!
