I checked it with another polymeter today and it seems to be defective. I have continuity between pins 3 & 4 in the OFF position. So today I ordered a switch board from T9hobbysport. Let's wait and see if our assumptions were right. Did you by any chance checked the connections?

In the ON position I have continuity. In the OFF position I measure 0.89KΩ
