I am new to the open9x software having just purchased a 9XR. Are there any precautions I need to take before flashing new firmware or burning an eeprom update. I am asking because I read somewhere that the TX module should be removed before flashng to the eSky board.... so I started wondering ....? ...

I will experiement when it gets here ... I purchased the module (SPMMSJR720 - DSM2 AIRMOD), I just checked the manual and you are correct, it does state the PPM mode is required.

I have a DM9 and a 9XR on the way (= noob).... can you explain why you aren't using the DSM2 only or DSM2/DSMX protocol ?

I haven't used either but this is documented for both Open9x and ER9x
