Re: Taranis X9D Plus - Damage to mainboard/backboard?

I did too... but in the course of fixing my 1st Gen Taranis Plus with a new/used backboard that Wayne graciously sourced for me from a TX with a broken USB port, I learned a little more of the history behind the whole iPX/uFL debacle, at least as he experienced it being an ASP for FRSky. There was a...

Re: Taranis X9D Plus - Damage to mainboard/backboard?

You should never remove any component from the mainboard, and you should never install an iPX connector on the mainboard. THIS is what was causing all the poor SWR/Poor RSSI issues FRSky was having on late 1st gen Taranii, and they went to the soldered-on connection. If you want to get good RSSI aga...

Re: Taranis X9D Plus - Damage to mainboard/backboard?

Right now I'm playing with a number of "Chiny Whoop" micro quads; several of which use firmwares that if you have the MultiModule and openTX 2.2.x, will not only fly them but also supports telemetry. On a 25-35 gram quad.

TOO MUCH fun for just the living room. ;)

I understand that you already have the 9XR; but really, with the features of the 9XR Pro, and it now selling for ~$50, I'm starting to think one might be a better deal than a Taranis with a pair of these on there. I could never use the Quanum 3 axis stick. I fly with thumbs. I get pretty decent centering on my 9x radio with hall effect sensors. Even if the gimbal's mechanics are bad. Re: Reversing Aileron Stick After Taranis Gimbal Upgrade

On my Quanum stick I simply rotated the magnets 180 degrees to reverse the magnetic field and consequently the sensor output. Yeah, I thought about that but it appears the magnets are pressed/glued on these gimbals, and I was concerned they might break if you try to pry them loose. The Quanum 3-axi...

Re: Reversing Aileron Stick After Taranis Gimbal Upgrade

Jonathan - All you need to do is flip the hall sensor over. It shouldn't care which side is up. If it was the elevator you were having trouble with it would be easy; that axis looks to have the sensor equidistant between the screws, so you could just flip the whole board over. You might try that fir...

You'll probably want to open a new thread for this bug-check; you won't get much action here.

I only posted here to let folks know the long-awaited X9E was actually available for purchase. Now they're gone until the next shipment from FRSky... That didn't take long. ;)

Re: Accidentally plugged shorted out wifi booster on taranis

Ummm... it seems to me the simple answer is, since it appears to be a non-plus Taranis, to look at the TSSI and see if you have any signal, then look at the "SWR that Really Isn't" and see if it is within specs. This kind of situation is precisely what those devices are meant for. ;) mnem ...

The 9XR has the right joystick rotated 180° from normal; the ratchet is on the inside edge on both joysticks. If you look here: http://hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/RC_PRODUCT_SEARCH.asp?strSearch=9xr+parts you'll see they sell Mode 1 & Mode 2 versions of both sticks for that reason. Either you ...
