Re: Eepe on MAC
TheObstacle: When you did the checkout, you should have got the sources for eepskye as well, they're in a sub-directory. Could you try building that please. We are going to need a MAC version of that to support ersky9xr, the 'SKY' version for the new 9XR-PRO. Mike. Attached is a build of eepskye ma...

Re: Companion9x 1.51 and er9x 808 eeprom format?
I've posted a Mac build of eepe revision 391 in what I think is the right thread, here: http://openrcforums.com/forum/viewtopic ... =60#p65221
It works fine with er9x version 808.
Cheers,

eepe revision 391 Mac build
Attached is a Mac build of eepe from svn revison 391. This was created on Mac OS X 10.9 (Mavericks), using Xcode 5.0.2 and Qt 4.8.5. Building it was pretty straightforward: - Install Xcode if you haven't already - Install Qt 4.8.5 from http://qt-project.org/downloads - svn checkout http://eepe.googl...

Re: Companion9x 1.51 and er9x 808 eeprom format?
Ah... I thought I had the latest version of eepe, but I see the Mac build wasn't updated past version 339. I'll head over to the eepe section of the forums to see what I can do about that.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Companion9x 1.51 and er9x 808 eeprom format?
I just updated my 9x firmware to er9x version 808 (the latest version at the moment), and it seems like the eeprom format has changed in some way that's incompatible with Companion9x 1.5.1 (revision 2321). I'm not sure which version of er9x I had installed before, but it was probably at least a year...

Re: "Flip" button on Syma X1/WLToys v949
I don't know about the 20mw ones, but I've bought the 200mw and 10mw 5Ghz boards from http://www.fpvhobby.com/ and they both work pretty well. Surprisingly (to me), they were shipped from Turkey instead of China, so they might get to the UK a bit quicker. Seemed about the same to the U.S. :) I also ...

Re: "Flip" button on Syma X1/WLToys v949
Excellent! I've got the code checked out and threw together a fairly dumb Makefile to build it with avr-gcc from Crosskit (I don't do Windows, so AVR studio isn't on my short list. ;) ). For some reason, I'd assumed you were going to do something to send digital data from the 9x to the module, like ...

Re: "Flip" button on Syma X1/WLToys v949
The third one (bonus! ;) ) came with the HCW 553, a micro-sized quad (roughly the size of the QR ladybird or the WLToys v939) with a body shell that shrouds the props. Looks a bit like a micro-sized AR-drone. I haven't ever put the logic analyzer on this one, but this quad also binds to the stock 9x...

Re: "Flip" button on Syma X1/WLToys v949
The one that came with the Syma X1 has a trace antenna, and as far as I can tell the pins are not marked. I vaguely recall that the logic probe showed the signals on the same pins as the v929 one, so I suspect the pinout is the same, but I'd want to double-check that with the logic probe and/or scop...

Re: "Flip" button on Syma X1/WLToys v949
Okay, got out the transmitters and busted them open. The one that came with the WLToys v929 seems to be pretty much identical to yours, so I'm sure they're re-branded versions of the same unit:

Re: "Flip" button on Syma X1/WLToys v949
I think they put the other chip names in there so that the modules show up in searches for those other chips, to get more search hits. It's a cheap trick people use on eBay and other free-for-all markets. I'm pretty sure the actual chip in the module is an A7105. This post by PhracturedBlue was what...

Re: "Flip" button on Syma X1/WLToys v949
Software is KiCAD, it's open source so free for all to use, once I get round to a Google Code page you will be able to get all the design files and give it a try. It is worth pointing out that in the renderings only the circuit board on the bottom is my creation. The one on the top is from my origi...

Wow. That looks really nice. Looks like I may have been a bit premature in ordering a couple of these: http://www.aliexpress.com/item/A7105-500m-wireless-transceiver-modules-NRF24L01-CC2500-SI4432-CC2530-module/623601913.html  Although if they aren't useful for this project I'm sure I can find...

Great news!th9xer wrote:It's all looking good, still ironing the bugs out but it IS going to be possible.
I assume from what you've said so far that it will require some additional hardware beyond a 9x and the standard FlySky module. Approximately what hardware mods is it going to need?

Re: "Flip" button on Syma X1/WLToys v949
I believe the Syma and WLToys transmitters use the "a7105" transceiver chip (that's definitely what's on the receiver board in both quads). One of the developers on the "Deviation" TX firmware did some actual in-depth reverse engineering on another 9x-compatible TX that uses it (...

Re: "Flip" button on Syma X1/WLToys v949
I was interpreting it as 8 bit transfers (ignoring the initial 4-bit transfer of 0x5, which I'm sure is important to the actual RF module, but was irrelevant to me because it wasn't changing :). I was basically ignoring everything that I couldn't map to a channel, so I haven't attempted to figure ou...

Re: "Flip" button on Syma X1/WLToys v949
The WLToys transmitter I have actually came with a v929, which just flips when the collective goes above a certain value, as Crashanium describes. When I bind it to the 9x, I have to cut I the limits or I end up flipping it by accident all the time. I haven't personally seen a v949 that flips based ...

"Flip" button on Syma X1/WLToys v949
I'm working on getting er9x to emulate the "Flip" button on the original transmitters that come with the Syma X1 and the WLToys v949. I think I'm almost there, but I need a bit of help. :) A bit of background: These cheap toy-grade quadrotors are compatible with the 9x using the original F...
