The elements can be epoxy coated so electrical potentials are insulated from the fuel. It doesn't need to be vertical, it can be on an angle but it needs to cover the vertical distance from max to min fuel. I have a commercial fuel level sensor which works based on the capacitance effect. In this case they have arranged for the capacitor plates to take the form of a rod running inside a hollow tube. I just made my first transaction about a month ago with Aliexpress to get my GY-86's. My friend did three transactions with them in 2016 and each time afterward he got a call from the credit card company that his card was compromised. That's 3 for 3. I still have my fingers crossed!

My concern is that simply using voltage dividers results in very marginal logic levels for the arduino input side and not much room for any noise.

Speaking of stability, when I made my boards I included an RF filter on the line which goes to the analog reference for the A/D converters in the Atmega328. It is a good idea considering the oXs is in close proximity to the transmitter from the model's RX.

I think you might be getting the confusing beeps because in climbing the steps you actually produce accelerations in both directions and the accelerometers can easily detect this but depending on the latency of the sampling and telemetry stream the vario audio routines in the TX dont always see it. ...

The Int pin on the accelerometer has to connect to oXs and you have a choice between digital pin 2 or 3 as described in the config.h and config description.h. It is nice to have everything on one little board sometimes. I did something similar except I didn't want to attach a GY-63 so I put the sensor on my board as well. I got fed up with etching boards and making my own vias years ago though so I send them out.

The thing that attracted me was the fact that the RTK processing is done right on the GPS. Others have done it with raspberry pi talking to a receiver that can output carrier phase information and you can do it that way for less money but it gets a bit bulky for a model aircraft.

When you consider that differential GPS used to cost $10k each, a development board for $250 is already cheap! But I expect these will be $10 GPS in a couple of years, if not sooner. Even at today's price it has applications that can easily justify the cost.

Does anybody know if the X12 gimbal frames will fit in Taranis? I'm glad the M9 gimbals will work in both my Taranis and 9X (with Sky board) but the X12 gimbals seem a bit better made with all metal frames.

The device on the link that I posted gives a linear output over a 1000 deg.C range and wouldn't require anything different than the type of code used for the current sensor. Maxim has some very nice cold junction compensated thermocouple interface IC's that use I2C to connect to uP. Very easy to use. I can't remember the part number right now but I have used them. They are accurate and easy to use.

I assume you mean NTC thermistor? Why wouldn't you just use an LM35? it's only 1 extra wire and way easier to use.

Ahh. So the "1 wire" is a bit misleading. They are combining the RX/TX onto a single digital pin, but the device still needs to be powered for programming, so you need 3 wires in reality. It is a nice trick though. I always make sure the heat shrink has a small cut on each side of the boar...

I just think that a m328 is a waste of a good processor when you just need 2 or 3 pins out of 32 :( I could use it on another receiver instead.. :) João But I'm interested in knowing how to program the chips off board anyway :D Thank you I agree but the chips are not expensive like in the old days....

@Joao: If you are going to make custom boards the 328 is pretty small. You can place it on the opposite side as the divider resistors and have something pretty tiny especially if you don't add a ICSP programming header. I can advise you how to program the chips off board if you want to go that way.

As far as I know the code size mainly depends on the defined features. If you only define a voltage sensor the compiler output should be quite small. Try it!
