Re: gruvin9x board no buzzer in opentx

Having just upgraded from the old 1.x versions to 2.1 I can confirm somewhere between 2.0 and 2.1 the buzzer options on the gruvin9x board stopped working. On the 2.0 branch it works fine as long as you don't specify the voice option, on the 2.1 branch it doesn't work at all even with the voice opti...

Re: X8R SBUS Signal Lost Bit

Can't tell that at the moment as we don't have a scope with any storage (it's a really old HP analogue scope) and my logic analyzer won't have enough memory I don't think, however once we get the code a little further along and are actually processing the SBUS packets and decoding them we can likely...

X8R SBUS Signal Lost Bit

Hi All I'm hoping someone can confirm what I'm seeing with an X8R receiver using SBUS. With a scope attached to the SBUS with the TX on and bound I'm seeing bit 2 of byte 24 bouncing between 1 and 0. This is supposed to be a Link Lost bit so it should be off when the TX is on. Bit 3 is the failsafe ...

Would it make sense for an admin to sticky this issue and change the subject name to reflect it can happen on any 9X?

Re: 9x upgrade to ATmega128A3-AU + Reboot With Horiz Trims

I've just performed the same fix. I have a gruivin9x board installed and could get it to reboot about 10-20% of the time I used the left stick and used the right horizontal trim. After the fix I also notice much more solid stick readings on the radio setup menu and from withing the channel setup men...

Re: Problem: Models taking off on there own until crashing !

One other thing to check is that your transmitters aren't rebooting. There is a nasty design flaw on all 9x's that they can reboot when you're using the horizontal trims. I suspect you would have noticed if that was happening, but it might be rebooting fats enough that you never look down to see wha...

Re: Trouble flashing Turnigy 9x

How are you powering the usbasp? Is it possible your USB port just can't supply enough current so you're getting voltage drop as a result?

Is it connected to an unpowered hub by chance?

Re: RC Controlled Switch suggestions

After some more reworking we should be able to add two servo outputs on the unit too. This will allow landing gear with doors to be connected as well as driving two FET's for LED's etc. We're also looking to add S.BUS support and we'll likely be able to shrink it a little more too. At least that's t...

So, the Sbus protocol is the same sbus that Futaba use? Tell me they haven't called it the same thing and use a different protocol?

Re: Smart Port protocol

Can someone clarify what can/is actually on the Smart Port bus? My understanding is it has all the telemetry but also all of the channels, is that correct? If so then I also have a project currently that could use the specs. Although I can probably reverse engineer from the opentx source, assuming i...

A friend and I are building RX Controlled switches similar to these but smaller, and with more features and we're looking for suggstions for more features we can add. Re: APM 2.6 FC and 9X radio mode switch

Actually, I think I did that on the radio, but just pulled it out using companion and dropped it into a new file. As I said, it's untested, but I did it based on a couple of other docs and blogs I found on the net so it should be pretty close. You can change the custom switches around so they are as...

Re: APM 2.6 FC and 9X radio mode switch

Attached is a setup I was playing with a while ago. Haven't actually got an APM to test with and it's not exactly what you're after but it will show you how to setup the switch config. It's also got 6 flight modes/phases setup, although that is dependent on your hardware so may not be an options for...

Re: Lua interpreter in openTx

Random question. Would this allow the imperial units compile option to be obseleted on platforms that support LUA? Would a simple LUA script be simpler to convert units? it would also mean for vario's (for example) that don't provide an imperial output the LUA script could do the conversion

Re: Is Mavlink data supported?

Yes but you're not trying to run a complete ground station on this link (at least I would hope not). The point of getting that into the TX is usually so you can put some alarms on things. a 1sec update rate at that point would be fine for anything other than altitude. Certainly for battery monitorin...

Re: Is Mavlink data supported?

That's odd, since apart from actually programming an APM, the telemetry port only puts out the same data as a FrSky hub that's populated with all the sensors, so I don't understand why you would think it's a bandwidth problem. Essentially you're talking about GPS, a couple of voltages, altitude and ...

Re: Is Mavlink data supported?

Not directly, APM outputs MAVLINK. To translate you need to use a JD IOBoard or a standard Arduino Pro Mini (if you don't care about the lighting features of the JD board) and load this firmware on it https://code.google.com/p/arducodes/downloads/detail?name=jD_IOBoard_FrSkyMAVLink_tst_2.0.hex&can=2...

Re: SD Card questions

Doesn't look like it, in fact there are very few free pins at all. All the serial ports are used either as serial ports, or just as data pins as far as I can tell. The USB port is just coming of a couple of data pins and not one of the serial ports. EDIT: Actually, pins 12 (RXD2) and 13 (TXD2) come ...

Re: SD Card questions

Ahh, right, the bootloader does emulate a usbasp for flashing, so it can be done, but that obviously makes it much harder to do in software when the TX is running.

Ahh well, cutting a slot for the SD Card it is then.

Re: SD Card questions

I'd still love to know the answer to this
Is that just a code issue (the no mass storage I mean)? Basically could the chip on the gruvin9x support mass storage (even if it stopped all other functions while connected)
It's not a huge issue, but would allow me to mount the SD card internally

Thanks

SD Card questions

Hi I've got some questions about the use of the SD Card (on a gruvin9x board, but it's probably for any board that supports it). Other than storing sounds/voices, is there any other functionality? For example, can I record FrSky GPS/Telemetry logs to the SD Card so I can plot them on Google Maps for...

Regarding the profiles, in companion you can have profiles setup for multiple radios (under preferences toward the bottom) This way companion can keep track of which TX you're using and flash the right eeprom. Open9x and Opentx are the same, as above, but the eeprom format changes semi regularly as ...

Of particular note was that I gave the connection to t...
