Re: Receive 9xtreme and Installation
Ok, i just checked hobbyking's website. Takes 6v to 13v, I never realised that. I'm using a 9.9v LiFE so I'll connect from the battery voltage on the 9xtreme pad. I might be learning something here
Thanks again, Luke

Re: Receive 9xtreme and Installation
Ah, you're right again. I had been trying the different settings (baudrate, com port etc) to see if i could get telemetry working. I literally tried all different settings and i remember changing that internal/external setting. if i dud manage to set it up with repaired or new internal module, what ...

Re: Receive 9xtreme and Installation
Hi Joao,
No LED at the front where the bind switch is, and no beeping etc.
OK, did a bit more probing. Only 1.3v going from the back board (5v and gnd) to the module. Took 5v and Ground from the 9xtreme board, and I have it working again??

Re: Receive 9xtreme and Installation
Hi all, Back again. Did the soldering and checked for continuity, all OK. I connected the black and white wires as above, but the module seems to be dead now. Before I buy another, I found this http://smartieparts.com/shop/index.php?main_page=page&id=21 which suggests there's still mods to be do...

One last question, I did manage to solder those cut lines on the module board, so it's black and white wires to TX and RX - not TX and RX to 14 and 15?

Re: Receive 9xtreme and Installation
OK Thanks to all. You've put enormous effort into fixing this for me but I haven't a clue at this stage how to go about installing for telemetry, so easier just to buy a new module :?: Am I right in thinking that if I buy the external module to plug in to the rear bay, I can just route the black and...

No need to rejoin the board at the cut points, solder connections between ports 14 and 15 on 9xtreme and the rx and tx on the module?

Re: Receive 9xtreme and Installation
Yes the two pins of COM2 are 5 volt tolerant. The absolute max rating is actually VDD+4.0V, so 7.3V, so normally OK to 6.0V. They do NOT like negative voltages though, still VSS(ground)-0.3V. Mike. When I said I needed the idiots guide to doing this I meant it :D . What does that answer mean?

Many thanks. I'll post the outcome as I can't be the first to go from that telemetry mod to the 9xtreme.

Oops, see another track(s) cut on front. Repair those too,
or
Just buy another module, fix the cut tracks on the mainboard, and connect black and white to tx and rx?

Sorry, was on a 250km drive there. 20151213_181647.jpg You can see the scorch type marks where the wires were soldered. I'm confused again. Essentially, I have an unmodified frsky module (becaused everything is removed to make it stock), and a 9xtreme board. Is it not just a case of finding where th...

Re: Receive 9xtreme and Installation
I have the DHT DIY kit with Telemetry fitted . I have the black and white wire fitted to board in the frsky port so what is each wire? The black wire is data from the module (TX) to the 9Xtreme (SPort for an XJT). The white wire is data from the 9Xtreme to the module (RX). If using a DIY DHT module...

The module IS powered from the battery voltage, not the 5V, so it is correct to have battery voltage on the middle pin of the module connector. Mike. I can only laugh at myself. I just got Fatshark base. Really good. Electronicarc.com and fast delivery. The cable that comes with them is nice and neat really. Hi again, another question. I'm looking to buy an OSD with RTH (return to home) function for FPV flying. I'm thinking of the Dragon OSD+ v2 (http://dragonlabseu.bigcartel.com/product/dragon-osd-v2-gps-and-current-sensor). It works using a channel on the receiver that receives PPM (not even sure what...

Safety Switches
Brand new here so... I have read through any ER9X manual that I can find but cannot find a reference to what the safety switches do. My interest in this is I am wondering if they are related to failsafes. I know that the failsafe on Channel 3 (throttle) works when range becomes an issue but am wonde...
