Re: Sky9x Rotaty Encoder Option
Iksbob, I think we're on the same page here. Small, cheap micro that essentially just functions as a decoder step counter that can be read at any time. If we were going to do this though, may as well have the micro that can have 5 or 6 encoders and counters. If it's a processor dedicated to this the...

Re: Sky9x Rotaty Encoder Option
We should be able to read it every 10mS (100 per second). The encoder in this thread only gives 24 steps per revolution, so we should be able to handle uo to 4 revs/second, can you turn it that fast? Mike. The main problem I see with reading the state at discrete times, as opposed to using an inter...

Re: Sky9x Rotaty Encoder Option
That's a really neat implementation there, Iksbob. I would assume that the encoder center button should connect and duplicate the functionality of the select button, so not sure why you need an extra input, unless it's for the encoder bit lines. Maybe we need to add one of these http://www.usdigital...

Re: Sky9x Rotaty Encoder Option
Thanks for the reply, I look forward to pictures. Regarding trims, the reason that I think the default or easy trim setting (single click) should be a large change and the double click for fine tuning is because, when trimming a new model, you want to be able to trim approximately first so you don't...

Re: Sky9x Rotaty Encoder Option
Thanks for the reply Mike. So how is the input mapped to the settings? Is it used for menu navigation (as in mapped to scrolling up and down through the menu), or just for changing the settings? Has anyone implemented rotary encoders for trim adjustments? I was thinking the best implementation would...

Re: Sky9x Rotaty Encoder Option
That's a really nice job with the PCB. I was thinking just using some double sided tape and routing some thin wires to where they need to go. How much space do you have between the sky9x board and the PCB for the encoder? Do you think that some of that 1mm thick double sided tape would be about righ...
Re: PXX work
I'm not sure the bus idea for servos actually works well. I did something like a bus when originally wiring up the wings of my Mosquito. Each wing has throttle(opto esc), aileron, flap and retract servos. I used a computer 9-way D-type in each wing, with large power and ground wires and several sig...
Re: PXX work
FrSky seem to like the idea of having a stream sent from the tx to one pin of the rx..... This'll be interesting! It's an interesting idea. If you can have each servo select its own channel from the stream then you can simplify wiring as you just have the receiver and a bus coming from it. I've see...

Re: ERSKY9x Questions
It's looking great, but just a few questions. 1. If I'm using the FrSky telemetry, can I connect it directly to COM1 without the RS232 level converter? 2. Where do you source the new lcd module? Is this the one: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/OPTREX-F-51320GNF-AC-LCD-MODULE-128X64-PARALLEL-2PCS-/3705698...
