Yes you may update to r226. I have always been careful to make sure new revisions do not change the existing radio and model settings, so you should be able to just do the update. It is always a good idea whenever updating to make a copy of the the existing firmware and settings so you may go back ...

The model name voice files are now stored in a directory /voice/modelNames on the SD card. It changed to this at some point. Try: Create that directory on the SD card if it doesn't exist.
