Solved it ! I updated the bootloader. I renamed radio firmware .bin file (less than 8 characters), saved it to sd card 'firmware folder' using a computer, put card back into x7 then found the file in the radio and flashed the bootlader All good. Im occasionally getting this screen now (see pic). It order to exit I need to remove batteries each time. Something is not right.
