Update: I first tried to remove the main battery and RTC battery and re inserted both batteries but it didn't change anything and was having the same issue. I remember I was having some message related to SD version not matching a while ago. So I thought to remove the SD card and powered it up and s...

Frsky QX7 not keeping the time anymore after power shutdown.
Hi all, I am having a little issue with my QX7. Its not keeping the time anymore after power shutdown. RTC battery is right on 3v. I opened it up and couldn't find anything obvious. Is there any eeprom chip that saves all the info or its the main processor that keeps the time info? Any suggestions p...

Which version of opentx to load onto my QX7 Acct?
Hi all, I would like to use the 2 extra switches on my older QX7.I have wired the switches to the empty connectors.
My radio is acct and please suggest me what version I should install to get the extra switch capability. Can I just install the latest one?

Hi all, I found that while pressing the power button on x10s,the LED doesn't turns green like LED on my Qx7 lits green. Guys Success!! Thanks for the help and encouragement!!My radio is alive now:) I used chip quick and hot air to remove the processor from the board.I tell you that pads on this board are very fragile.Even thou i made sure that chip was freely moving before i picked it up,somehow i lifted one trace on...

One more thing I noticed that insertion of trainer plug,breaks one connection on the jack.Does it indicates the processor that plug is inserted??
And what type of plug we suppose to be using?I mean stereo 3 pin or 2pin mono?

Okay then i am gonna try and take a chance.
Existing processor says STM32F205 VET6 but only STM32F205 VET7 is available at my store.Will it be compatible?and what about boot-loader and stuff?can it just be programmed again by connecting via USB?

Do you think it's worth trying changing the processor if there is no special programing involved?I got hot air station, hakko fine soldering iron and a chip quick.If I replace the processor, will I be able to load the opentx firmware via USB? Thanks.

No PC is not seeing the usb of radio.I just hear a click from the speaker when i insert a usb cable or when i push the power button.

Inside the taranis qx7 there are two connections labelled p400 and P401 that are unused, does anybody know why they are there or if they could be used for something like extra switches.
