Rx's D4R-II and V8R4-II are different devices with different firmware.
V8R4-II more older and provided bind with pressing FS button with own RF (Tx) module like D4R-II.
Short Ch1 & Ch2 - just new feature of binding for new protocol.

Reflow with hot fan or just cut pins one-by-one/
May be hot air stream too strong and shifted some C or/and R's?

Possible shorted pins also need check. Use power magniefing glass and LED torch.

for removing solder snot/drop between pins i use "wave soldering tip"

Pay attention for check correctly connection betwenn STK & Rx: S, +, -
For some other FrSky Rx's cable has different pinout.
