X9E serial port location
I was looking into wiring up an internal wireless trainer module via S-BUS. It seems quite straight forward with the normal Taranis via the battery bay serial port. But where is that port on the Taranis tray version (x9e)? I see I could also use the module port. But I usually have a module in there....

Threadded inserts for Taranis X9E Tray
One thing that pissed me off about my lovely new Taranis are those stupid self tapping screws right in the plastic. Especially since you have to take the back off quite often because the RF module bay is inside. So I did something about that. :) I bought those inserts from China http://www...

Re: Threaded inserts
No, that is a different thing.
What I want are little metal bushings with fine thread on the inside and some kind of self cutting thread on the outside.
I can get the smooth threaded inserts in, but I would have to glue them I guess.

Threaded inserts
The new Taranis Tray version still has self tapping plastic screws. And of course I ripped the thread ouf of one on the first day. I would like to put in some threaded metal inserts. Does anyone have good sources to buy those in EU? Searching for threaded inserts usually gives very bad search result...

Re: Adding Bluetooth module
I have been thinking among those lines too. Strangely its becoming difficult to find BT modules that support HCI. There are tons of serial over BT modules (rubbish for the use case) and also lots of proprietary embedded stack modules with vendor lock in. What are your thoughts? I would like to have ...

Re: Merging/expanding OpenXVario branches
Nice boards. Would you mind sharing your designs. Perhaps one could manufacture a small production run. I suppose it could still run openxvario? Same goes for the sources. Can't tell what is worth to be merged into the openxvario by but the remote configuration but is clearly a nice thing to have. I...

Re: Solid State Relay - Need help!
I found this SSR also, which should be a random turn on, up to those instructions and if image is correct. This is still the zero crossing type. You need one with P instead of a Z in the product code with his product family. The Thyristor type random turn on ones are a bit more expensive. But ebay ...

Re: Solid State Relay - Need help!
Thinking of it. The motor speed control is probably some phase angle control. The inductive effects are of course higher with the stark rising edge at half load than the perfect if phase shifted sinus. Ric, I would look for a SSR that is specifically made for inductive loads. I don't think they woul...

Re: Solid State Relay - Need help!
My first idea was that since the motor is inductive thee SSR might have issues with that. But Ric had testes driving the SSR with a higher control voltage which seemed to make it work reliably. Hence the idea that the inductiveness is perhaps not a problem and the idea to boost the control voltage w...

Re: Taranis full ?
It's a bit of a anachronism in the firmware. It does not (yet) use the SD cars for storage of models.
I suppose sooner or later that will have to be changed. File a issue in github for a feature request I would say. Should be done eventually anyway

Same in earlier versions.
Just in 8 bit it's a bit awkward because of the scaling of numbers. But it works even there.

Re: Taranis Wizard
sorry I barfed out my ideas a bit too quickly. I thought about it a bit more. For full house glider awesomeness I would ask this script: (please discuss) How Flaps servos does the plane have? (0, 1, 2.) How many aileron servos? If odd number, use one for channel sharing. Weigh them in pairs from the...

Re: Taranis Wizard
Flaps/flaperons are complicated. Often you have less up than down travel for flaperons. I would perhaps ask how many servos the wing has. Then how many are ailerons (outer surfaces) if number is two ask if they share a channel. Then ask how many flaps. (inner surfaces) so far they only move down. Th...

Re: Servo center?
I think you are right, should be ail up and ele down. Physically back, mind is not. Result of away from RC for a whole month and a huge jet lag. I would use elevator up in that configuration actually. Instead of deploying flaps down you change the whole angle of the wing. Which had the sa...

Re: A different idea relating to scripting (not LUA)
If DDC has deterministic timing and memory consumption it might be better suited for run at runtime scripts.
Perhaps lua template script sets up DDC runtime.
Just a thought.
For now I will put some thought into mixer based templates, sorry.

OpenLRS uses the RFM23BP HopeRF module http://www.hoperf.com/rf/fsk_module/RFM23BP.htm As you can see, it has a very wide frequency range. However, as far s I know there might be hardware mods required. Least of all the correct antenna lengths. Possibly some RF filter changes. The RF module re progr...

Re: Smart Port Voltage Sensor
What do you mean by 'use'? You should see the values in the telemetry screen on the main screen. (Long press some key. I forgot which) Perhaps you need to select the voltage source first in the telemetry screen of the model setup. And you should select the right threshold voltages for your battery. ...
