Re: Adding MAVLINK support
Thanks for checking the code Mike. I'm using the same arduino board and same pixhawk flight controller but a different receiver (D4R vs X8R) and achieving different results. Maybe it's OpenTX? I'll try loading ersky9x on the Taranis with the D4R receiver and see what results I get and I'll let you k...

Re: Adding MAVLINK support
Thanks for your response Mike :) There appears to be a problem with Alt and VFAS over D-Port. Any ideas on how to fix this? Is this an OpenTx issue? They both seem to work fine over S-Port (I don't know what's wrong with my youtube videos - they're stuck on processing)... Edit: The X8R S.Port video ...

Re: Adding MAVLINK support
So I hooked up my X8R in SBUS mode using the same Arduino Pro Mini board and I seem to be getting better results. Here's my wiring: Pixhawk Telemetry Pin # -> Arduino pins 1 (5V) -> VCC 2 (TX) -> RX 3 (RX) -> TX 4 (CTS) -> Not connected 5 (RTS) -> Not connected 6 (GND) -> GND S.PORT -> Arduino pins ...

Re: Adding MAVLINK support
I just erased the arduino and reloaded the sketch and completely rewired the D4R & Arduino. This is my wiring now: Pixhawk Telemetry Pin # -> Arduino pins 1 (5V) -> VCC 2 (TX) -> RX 3 (RX) -> TX 4 (CTS) -> Not connected 5 (RTS) -> Not connected 6 (GND) -> GND D4R Telemetry -> Arduino pins RX -> ...

Re: Adding MAVLINK support
Thanks Mike. These were my original connections from the Pixhawk to the Arduino: Pixhawk Telemetry Pin # -> Arduino pins 1 (5V) -> VCC 2 (TX) -> RX 3 (RX) -> TX 4 (CTS) -> BLK 5 (RTS) -> GRN 6 (GND) -> GND Per your suggestion, I'll disconnect CTS & RTS and I'll report back. OK, I disconnected CT...

Re: Adding MAVLINK support
Update: I changed the SERIAL1_PROTOCOL back to 1 (Mavlink) and now I'm getting some data but the values are jumping around like crazy, is this normal? I've taken a video of what I'm seeing... Any ideas?

I'm having some issues getting telemetry back to my radio with this project and was wondering if someone could please help? I've successfully compiled and uploaded the sketch to my pro mini. I'm using a Pixhawk -> Arduino Pro Mini -> D4R receiver. My wiring is as follows: Pixhawk Telemetry pin assig...

Re: Adding MAVLINK support
Mike, what serial baud rate will the arduino be able to sync with on the Mavlink input side? Apparently ULRS transmits at 115200 baud.

Re: RE: Re: 12V supply to monitor and video receiver from 9XR Pro?
The battery circuit includes a fuse, I'm not sure what it's rating is though. The circuit also includes a 0.1 ohm current sense resistor rated at 0.25W. This certainly limits the maximum total current to around 1.2A. Mike. Thanks Mike! Do I need to buy a Futaba cable to tap into the power pins on t...

Re: 12V supply to monitor and video receiver from 9XR Pro?
Thanks showmaster. Does the Futaba trainer port go through the bus? Do you know how many amps can you pull through the trainer port? I've seen other guys use this port for powering a 7' monitor and vrx gear...

Re: 9XR-PRO Hacks and Fixes
Hi guys, using the hobbyking monitor mount, I'm planning on mounting a 7' monitor and my vRx on my 9XR Pro. Can someone tell me some possible options of conveniently and easily tapping into a 12V/batt power supply on the 9XR Pro? Thanks for any help

12V supply to monitor and video receiver from 9XR Pro?
Hi guys,
I've bought the monitor mount and am planning on mounting a 7' monitor & video receiver to my 9XR Pro. Both require a 12V power supply. Can someone advise if there's a neat way to tap into the LiPo battery supply?
Thanks in advance for any help

Re: Adding MAVLINK support
Mine is here: https://github.com/MikeBland/APM_Mavlink_to_FrSky . Mike. Wow Mike, the amount of work you've done for the community is outstanding! Thank you so much mate. Does this work for DJT/D4R-II gear? If it does, this is exactly what I'm after! Is there a thread or webpage with info on the pr...

Re: Adding MAVLINK support
The second diagram should work fine. I understood openTx does support Mavlink data directly. Note that the FrSky 'D' telemetry does not pass the serial data completely transparantly. It packs the serial data into FrSky packets and needs to be 'unpacked' in the Tx. The serial port on the 'D' Rx runs...

Re: Adding MAVLINK support
I'm unclear why you do need two RF links. My understanding is you can put the ULRS in the Tx and that handles both control and telemetry. You don't show how the controls are sent to the aircraft. You last diagram will work for the telemetry. Mike. I don't *need* 2 RF links. Having the FrSky 2.4GHz ...

Re: Adding MAVLINK support
Thanks Mike. Once again, I apologise if my questions are stupid but I'm still trying to wrap my head around this. Are you saying that FrSky telemetry capable Tx & Rx devices such as the DJT/D4R-II can't carry Mavlink data? So a solution such as this won't work? http://i.imgur.com/YtxYrZx.png And...

Re: Adding MAVLINK support
Yes, I now have Mavlink telemetry being processed in ersky9x. You will probably need to use the ULRS to get the telemetry transferred, the D4R-II to DJT telemetry link does not really have the bandwidth to handle the raw Mavlink data. Mike. That's brilliant news Mike! So I don't need an Arduino to ...
