Finally seem to have got somewhere and it appears to be an issue with the latest r223 firmware?? I decided to flash back to my original firmware from when I got the transmitter, I had r218 and r219t_music. I flashed the r218 and then went into the protocol and changed to PPX then bound and it worked...
