Re: 9XR Pro Power Issue

Did you find a direct replacement? João Surprisingly I had one at home that fitted almost like a glove. It needed like a 1mm of sanding in the top plastic part of the switch, to be able to fit the cap, but besides that, it fitted great and works. My main radio is that 9xtreme you already know, this...

Re: Add 3 pos switches to plain 9x.

It looks like I did a change to allow an extra switch to be converted to 3-position, and this has upset the detection of PB1 and PB2. I've just posted a test version, for the '128, that should fix this. I don't have a '128 radio any more, but I found my '2561 wasn't detecting PB1 and PB2, but with ...

The buttons are round on/off buttons, not self springed, if it helps.

Pin 35 is PC0, not PB7! (PB7 is on pin 17)
What voltages do you see on pin 43?

I see 4,80v

Re: Add 3 pos switches to plain 9x.

Check that without the switch pressed you have 5V between the switch connections (one is ground and the other should be pulled up by a resistor internal to the processor). If you don't see 5V, check the ground connection really is ground (perhaps measure the voltage on both sides of the switch to a...

Re: Add 3 pos switches to plain 9x.

Hi Mike, this time I need to add two buttons in the back of the radio. On-off buttons. How should I add them? So far I soldered a wire to the pin processor 35 and 43, as stated above, to one of the legs of that switch, and the other leg to ground (to the back of the radio) In the hardware menu I sel...

Re: Bad Eeprom error. 9xtreme/encoder.

Suggest, maybe it could be a hardware problem. If you have a bad switch or a bad chip it could be causing the troubles. Many years ago I had a new 9x that bricked when programing it and later found the selecting switches were corroded. After replacing several of the selecting switches, it worked OK...

Re: Bad Eeprom error. 9xtreme/encoder.

Oh, I see.. :) But if the radio is completely dead, I don't know if maintenance mode will work. Re: Bad Eeprom error. 9xtreme/encoder.

I have just checked on my 9xtreme radio. You do have a "Restore" option in the Radio "Settings / EEPROM" menu. You can use it to restore the EEprom you have saved to the SD Card. João Yes, but that is when the radio is working, not like the other days with the radio completelly dead, lol. Hence Id ...

Re: Bad Eeprom error. 9xtreme/encoder.

I think you can :) but not sure. I know we can backup the complete eeprom to the SD Card. I don't have the radio with me at the moment, but you can check in the Radio Settings/EEprom. You might have to unlock the menu by holding the left horizontal trim to the left at power ON. :) João Hi Joao, yes...

Thanks again, will post tomorrow :D

Re: Bad Eeprom error. 9xtreme/encoder.

I have been thinking about this and I have some ideas: Blocking access to the encoder removed most of the issues... Maybe you could block it until the splash screen is gone. Also another thing that would help a lot is to be able to restore the eeprom from the bootloader or from the maintenance mode....

Re: Bad Eeprom error. 9xtreme/encoder.

Hi Mike, I believe I am still having some issues with this. It is not the first time the radio does not start and I had to replace the eeprom with eepe. Today it happened again, but thanks to God I did a copy of the eeprom two days ago. I tried to start the radio and I had the starting music. Even w...

Just to point the button was damaged in shipping. Hi friends. A friend of mine has the exit button damaged. It needs to be replaced. Could you tell me the size? I guess it is a SMD switch, 4.5mm? How long?
Thanks!

Re: Voltage drop in 9x

Easy to add the extra build, so I've posted a '128 version for the Green processor created by doing a full build of all versions, so it will be updated and released with all the other versions. Re: Voltage drop in 9x

I'll think on what to do permanently. Maybe I need to build a '128 version specifically for the Green processor. I think that will be the easiest solution since I don't like the idea of adding the 300mS software watchdog to the standard '128 version as that would increase the watchdog timeout to 0....

Re: Voltage drop in 9x

I'm wondering if the Green chip is clocking the watchdog faster, and using some unused bits in the configuration register to set up the longer timeouts. Either that, or the watchdog is just not working properly. I've just posted a new test version that includes a 300mS software driven watchdog, whi...

Re: Voltage drop in 9x

Re: Voltage drop in 9x

I've just posted a special test version, for the '128, with the watchdog set to 2 seconds instead of the normal 0.5 seconds. I've done this in case the "Green" processor watchdog is running fast, causing a watchdog reboot when it shouldn't happen. Mike Flashed! I think we might be on the right way....

Re: Voltage drop in 9x

Hmm, can't see the connections and the cuts very well. Also what Mosfet arte you using? On the board that doesn't work, make sure the Mosfet tab is not touching the ground plane just under it. João I think the tab is indeed touching that (not 100% sure, because I loctited it). but I thought that ta...
