Found the answer. It wasn't smartproplus but a linguring driver for vjoy installed. This has solved my issue well that and a new taranis . Thanks for the help.

Frustrated at this point. I cannot get yaw to work in freerider or liftoff. When I calibrate yaw doesn't move unless I goto the extreme's and then it just jumps all the way to the end. I've tried calibrating the tx, set the 50/50 settings on the channels and calibrated in windows. I am running windo...

I can't get the USB working in free rider as the yaw wont show. In windows joystick calibration the yaw is jumping all over the place. I just checked on my 9Xtreme, with a 'scope, that pin 9 does have a PPM signal on it, and it does! Please double check your PPM signal connection is to pin 9, middle row, last but one on the right. Was wondering why I couldn't get it to work after upgrading the board. I wish I could just plug in the USB into the 9xtreme and do away with all the audio jack mumbojumbo.

Understood 8-) Great first run of the product though. If speaker hiss is the only major snag I think this went off much better than could have been hoped for. Love my 9xtreme now I just need to get someone to port over the "Amber" sounds from OpenTX to confuse my buddy when flying together...

Excuse my ignorance on the subject but what powers the backlight as I've seen the power supplies (power innverters) cause audio noise before in car stereos.
