Re: Taranis X9DP - SD Card issue

I think I found it... I took off the SD card socket and there was a lot of flux leftovers underneath... Some pins of the socket literally vanished when I touched them with a soldering iron. I guess the previous repair was done using some stronger acid instead of a soft flux, and the board wasn't pro...

Re: Taranis X9DP - SD Card issue

Yeah, that's how I figured it out... Playing some more with a built-in decoder in the protocol analyzer (I use PulseView)... As soon as I tell the analyzer that MOSI (Pin54) is SD-card's "Command" line, the software starts to complain ("Decoder reported an error"). Perhaps, the request from the MCU ...

Re: Taranis X9DP - SD Card issue

Mike, I just hooked up a logic analyzer and I see some activity on pins 51, 52 and 53. Pin 54 is always low, and pin 56 is always high. Can you please explain which pin does what for the SD-card? Pin 52 is probably the 'Clock'. Is Pin 53 the 'Command' ? EDIT: Based on your comment above, I think it ...

Hmm, in maintenance mode it's not hanging. It says "No files 1 " whenever I reach a step where a file needs to be selected.

Re: Taranis X9DP - SD Card issue

Nope... with the 'working' card in, the radio stops responding as soon as I select any menu item ( Flash Firmware / Run App / Restore EEPROM ). It just freezes and I have to pull out the battery again. :( I can hook up a logic analyzer to see what is going on. Though, I'm not sure I will be able to ...

Re: Taranis X9DP - SD Card issue

I don't think it's a card's fault. Well, at least not only the card. I just took a working SD card from my main radio (AR9x). With this card, the radio DOES start in Bootloader mode properly. But when connected to a PC, the drive appears and then immediately disappears in Windows Explorer a couple o...

Re: Taranis X9DP - SD Card issue

Ahh, there is an issue! If I start the radio in Bootloader mode with the SD card plugged in, the radio only shows 'Boot Loader'. No other words, no menu - nothing. And the radio is stuck in this state until a battery is disconnected. If I start the radio in Bootloader mode without the SD card, it do...

Re: Taranis X9DP - SD Card issue

Hmm... There's something strange... I started the radio in Bootloader mode. But in this mode the radio is not detected as a USB device at all. Moreover, there seem to be no reaction on any button, and I can't even switch the radio off. I have to unplug the battery to shut it down. If I plug a USB ca...

Re: Taranis X9DP - SD Card issue

I flashed the erskytx (latest beta).
The SD card stat screen shows:

Code: Select all

Present = YES
READY 0004 0001
        0064
Does this help in any way?

Taranis X9DP - SD Card issue

Hi All, I got a second-hand Taranis with a dead MCU. I successfully replaced the MCU and the radio seem to work fine, except for the SD card. The radio doesn't see any files on the card... I rechecked the MCU soldering and also tried all the microSD cards I had at hand (8Gb and up) - no luck... Afte...

Re: ERSKY9x Questions

No no, the magic is that it can be done in software!
At least that's what my engineers were saying about SAMD chips when we discussed some other (unrelated) project.
There are some limitations, of course. So I'm not sure whether the requested swap is possible at all...

Re: ERSKY9x Questions

The solution Customize attempted to suggest is to have a setting (perhaps somewhere in the Hardware menu) that reassigns the MCU pins. His idea is to swap the Internal and External ports. This way, the Internal will get all the bells and whistles, while External will become limited to PWM (CPPM, DSM...

Anyone familiar with Arduino and SAM D (a bootloader question)?

I was asked for help to compile a bootloader for an Arduino M0 (a SAM D21-based board). I followed the instruction https://learn.adafruit.com/compiling-m0-atsamd21-bootloader/compile and the compilation seem to run just fine (I didn't do any modifications - just the regular 'make' on a freshly downl...

Re: ERSKY9x Questions

I'm sorry, I'm still reading that github thread... Maybe it was already discussed there... What if channel 1 is moving rapidly from -100 to +100 - i.e. every 9ms. And channel 9 changes slowly. Will the entire air transmission be occupied by channels 1-8 only, and channel 9 value will never reach its...

Re: ERSKY9x Questions

I have a few questions on the Double Rate and PB14 Heartbeat options in RF module settings. Perhaps, I missed some discussion on the topic. Where do I read more about these? It will likely work (still can't test it myself, but I'll ask the guy who actually found this issue).

I was just wondering whether this is a bug or a feature.
I have no problems "upscaling" the voice files to 256kbps. If that's what ersky9x expects - fine with me!

Re: Ersky9x Bug Reporting

Is it possible that modern ersky9x doesn't like voice files with 128kbps bitrate? There's a Russian sound pack that works well with r219, but not-so-well with modern versions (including the recent betas). Specifically, the model battery voltage alarm doesn't pronounce the digits - the radio just say...

Re: Using FrSky S6R with ersky9x

Can you confirm he is using "ProvR222a9" please? I've just put this (with a couple of extra changes) on an AR9X and I can edit a S8R OK. He certainly tried it with ProvR222a8 and the "official" r221. I'll confirm about 222a9 tomorrow, although I don't expect the r9 to work any different for him (I ...
