Re: Unisens-E for FrSky / OpenTX
Hi, Long time since I have been reading / posting to this forum but I can confirm, support to UniSens-E for FrSky is added. Today I just tested one. Just plugged in cables and everything was working instantly out of the box. At the on table tests, vario seems to be great. And it's very great to have...

Re: Taranis and high precision vario questions
Ask FrSky... I guess the old Vspd calculation algorithm was so noisy/imprecise that they thought it was better to "hide" it with steps of 0.5m/s. Okay, I just did that -> http://www.frsky-rc.com/BBS/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=488&p=1760&sid=383dfd0b10b307b6a239de16493befcb#p1760 :) B...

Re: Taranis and high precision vario questions
It may be the vario never outputs a value higher than 10.230. I'm suspicious as 1023 is the largest value that can be represented by a 10-bit binary number. Mike. Hi, I'm still wondering this one. Now when frsky released newest firmware for the vario sensor the resolution has been improved dramatic...

Re: Display unreadable at cold weather
nice to know. If someone who has better ways to communicate with FrSky would please address this issue to them? I tried to contact them via e-mail and their forums about my two non-working SBUS decoders, but I haven't got any replies... :\

Hi, Now as you said this, I recall I was thinking the same thing actually when I was on the ice but then it got lost in my thoughts, because I kept thinking how to make this one work. :D Heat doesn't make good for other components, so if we find a solution to heat up the LCD it has to be so sophisti...

Hi,
Maybe calibrating the sticks would help? Look here for the calibration instructions -> http://www.open-tx.org/2013/08/22/opent ... manual-en/

Hi,
Could you post a photo(s) of those ripped down antennas? I liked to see what's "inside" and don't want to tear my antennas apart. Thanks!

Bill, don't attempt me. I already have that radio glove and also HK heaters which can easily converted to be hand warmers.

Re: Display unreadable at cold weather
Maybe it does not have to be so accurate. Just some adjustment for darker if it gets colder (below 0C). And of course we have to think what are the steps for the contrast for each temperature drop range. (like example for each -5 degree drop it gets adjusted xx steps).

Re: Display unreadable at cold weather
You took the words from my mouth. I thinked that earlier by myself so, that user doesn't have to always adjust it manually. BUT, I think it may need some calibration or pre-set settings for different temperatures (like a memory array for different temps). I think you know better how to do, but I agr...

Re: Display unreadable at cold weather
Turnigy9x worked perfectly at -10C degrees. I tested that multiple times couple years ago, when we had quite cold weathers for 3-4 months. I'm surpised that Taranis display doesn't hold even that much what Turnigy did. Also, my flying buddies, many has Futaba and those doesn't even slow a bit or fai...

Re: Is FrSky now installing cheaper gimbals?
Hi, When I got my Taranis (something like 6 months ago), I criticized these sliders instantly. I did open the radio on pushed those little metal pieces a little just to get more firm feeling and better centering. I also filed the notch at the center of the slider wheel to get better center position....

Display unreadable at cold weather
Hello, I have been reported that Taranis display is unreadable at cold weather and I noticed that also by myself. - One user said that, when he went flying on almost -10C degree temperature he didn't see anything from the display. - Other user said that, he didn't see anything on -5C degree temperat...

FAS-100 and FAS-40 voltage reading
Hi, One guy at the finnish forums said that before he upgraded his Taranis OpenTX he was enable to read voltage values via FAS-40 and FAS-100 sensors. After update (on January he said) he was unable read those values anymore, even that in telemetry options there is FAS selected for the voltage. Used...

Hi, Just a one dumb suggestion or doubt. One guy in a Finnish forums has exact same date on his decoder and he reported that servos are jittering. But as mentioned before, if it initializes normally, then it would be fine. Re: SBUS does not work
Why it is 992?
Eleven bits = 2047 / 2 = 1023 .... how many digital steps there might be then on Taranis SBUS?
edit: okay Kilrah answered meanwhile I was writing here. Yes, that's totally irrelevant. So forgot my above thinkering.

Re: SBUS does not work
Just thinkering here that the Taranis PWM pulse is 1500us by default when servo is centered and it should then send SBUS value 991 which converts throug decoder as 1520+(991-1023)*0.625=1500us so, the servo should be in a same position with decoder or without it (direct connection to receiver). If F...

Re: SBUS does not work
Could anyone say if I could use those Futaba decoders (those custom made which I mentioned above) on X8R. Mainly the question is that, is that S.BUS protocol same on both brands? The servo center seems to be 1520ms on those decoders (according to manual) and in Taranis that is 1500ms by default, but...

Re: SBUS does not work
Yeah, me too. I might use these for controlling the leds or something else not so critical on the plane, but it might be frustrating for trying to start-up the electrics for the plane so, that decoders boot-up correctly on the field. I just send a message to FrSky what to do and see what they answer...

Re: SBUS does not work
Okay, I tested my two SBUS decoders today which are dated 20/08/2013 (both) and I found out that there's 4 states where they are initialized: I assigned channels from 9 to 12 for both decoders starting from pin header 1. So, pin header 1 was channel 9 where I attached a servo. From the radio I set r...
