Re: X12S Screen goes blank
I have made some progress since my last post. If the backlight mode (Radio Settings) is set to ON the next line "ON brightness" applies. If the backlight mode is set to "both", "Controls", "Keys" or "OFF" then the next line again. "OFF brightnes...

Re: X12S Screen goes blank
I just installed the FRSKY RF module firmware version 1.5.04. I still get the blank screen. There's no reason that I know of that this might have made a difference but I thought it was worth a try. The error on bind is now gone so there was a benefit.

Re: X12S Screen goes blank
The RF firmware version is 1.5.03. The backlight settings on both transmitters are the same.

X12S Screen goes blank
At present I have an X12S and when I load a particular model (attached) the screen goes blank (completely black, no backlight, nothing). I can hear normal voice responses so it seems that the model has loaded but I cannot see anything. The particular radio is a new X12S, production model AFAIK. this...

Re: RSSI drops to 12 - but only with a particular model selected
I have updated the receiver firmware to the most recent (20171213) non-EU version. This made no difference to the original issue, the same Rx numbers worked as before and the same didn't work. I tried the same with my earliest model X9D and some receiver numbers were OK, some not. I had thought that...

Re: RSSI drops to 12 - but only with a particular model selected
Changing the receiver number appears to have fixed the problem. I did see this issue myself with early S6R firmware and my X9D transmitter, but never with either of my X9D+ before. The receiver number that doesn't work is 05. I'll try a few more tomorrow. It seems peculiar to me that an installation...

Re: RSSI drops to 12 - but only with a particular model selected
No it's not swamping, I'm experienced with that. I rebound the original receiver several times and then bound the second receiver. Also sensor deletion and rediscovery was done this morning with both receivers but it made no difference. Perhaps I didn't make it clear but both the S8R receivers work ...

RSSI drops to 12 - but only with a particular model selected
I'm not sure where to post this, or even if the problem is OpenTx related. But I'll ask anyway in the hope that someone can give me some clues. I went to use a model today and as soon as I switched on the Rx I started to get low RSSI warnings. I have flown this model many times and have not changed ...

Re: Time in log file
I have attached an example of a log file from my X9D+. The time data doesn't seem to be as you describe so I'm wondering what I am doing wrong?

Re: Time in log file
The date in the log file is correct. I checked both my X9D and my X9D+. OTX 2.2.1. The actual date and time on the radio screen are correct and maintained during power off so I assume there's a RTC. There's a battery on the main board. I note that there's a tick box titled "adjust RTC" whi...

Time in log file
What is the "time" entry in the log file displaying please? Is there a relationship between the logged time and the time of day shown on the Tx? The log file time seems to be affected by the timezone and can show values >24 (presumed) hours so it's obviously not meant to be time of day.

Re: Need Help- Maiden Phoenix 2000 Glider Flight - Bad Crash
Getting back to fixing it. The wing is no problem, it will go back together with UHU (best), gorilla glue or anything foam safe. I assume that the wooden joiner is broken so obviously this will need to be replaced. Use aircraft or marine ply from a model shop, not cheap rubbish from the local hardwa...

Re: M9 Gymbals in a X9E
As far as I can tell by limited testing selecting the Horus gymbal option does work with M9 gymbals as well. For anyone interested in doing this modification the wires on my M9-R gymbal trim connector were too short and would need to be lengthened. The standard M9 wires (on my set at least) were jus...

M9 Gymbals in a X9E
The M9 gymbals can be installed in a X9E radio but need to be reversed (turned 180 degrees) to fit. This obviously means that the throttle and elevator directions will be reversed. This was dealt with when people started using Horus gymbals in the same radio by a firmware alternative selected prior ...

Re: New M9-R High Sensitivity Hall Sensor Frsky Gimbals
The M9-R gymbals are identical to the M9 except that the removable faceplate has different indentations that prevent the stick moving as far as it does in the M9. You can convert either one to the other by swapping the faceplates. Both are the normal Taranis standard 3.3V.

Re: Calibration question
Thanks. Would it be possible/feasible/desirable to have an option in the radio calibration to set the ranges from 1000 to 2000?
Is Cleanflight one of the systems that allows the CLI option you mention?

Calibration question
When I calibrate my X9D and X9D plus radios the outputs on all three vary pretty consistently from 988 to 2012us on each channel. Some of the flight controllers that I use state that the range should be altered in their setup to 1000 to 2000. I have been modifying these values in the outputs screen,...

New Binding Options
I've just installed ON368 with Bindopt ticked and I can see 4 ways to bind receivers with different channels and telemetry on/off options - all allowing use of 8 channels. Does this only apply to PWM outputs or also SBUS/internal, for example can I still bind my S8R with 12 channels (at least)? I'd ...

Not in this instance, when I removed the rear I discovered that the elevator trim board had been installed upside down by the factory. I had another radio to compare with.

How do I unreverse my trim?
Ever since OpenTx was released I have been using the same model definition for a Radian that I fly regularly in one of our single model type competitions. This has been used on several 9X, a 9Xr and two Taranis radios. A while back I upgraded the new Taranis to 2.1 but did not fly any model with it ...

Re: Model definition corrupt
I restored the original eepe to the radio from my backup and have tried to reproduce the problem by power cycling but so far have been unsuccessful, all works as it should. I don't have any evidence that the power cycle was the cause except that this is the only unusual occurrence in the timeframe. ...

Attached is an eepe file with two models. The first was copied off my radio today (along with all the others that were there) and extracted to a new eepe file. Re: Channel 1 not working on 9XR after 2.1 upgrade
SF11 started life as ON Volume RS on my Taranis. When I copied the model from my Taranis eepe to a new 9XR eepe in Companion 2.0 it seems to have got changed to ON Volume --- (reasonable as there is no RS on my 9XR). Then when I converted to 2.1 it got changed to ON Override Ch1 125. I'm not sure ho...

Channel 1 not working on 9XR after 2.1 upgrade
After upgrading my 9XR from 2.0.forgotten to 2.1.7 I find that Channel 1 does not produce any output for several of the converted models. In the attached eepe, in the case of the first 4 models Channel 1 produces no output. In the case of the 5th (also converted) model it does. The last model was cr...

When I installed 2.1.7 I received a Virus warning from Avast for the file Win32:Evo-gen. I disable Avast temporarily and recommenced the installation. Now when I run Companion I get the warning for the same file, seems to be to do with the simulator, but Companion otherwise runs OK. Is there a prefe...

Re: Unwanted changes in servo centres
I have two radios, one with 2.0.17 that I use for competition flying and another with 2.1.x that I am using to get familiar with the changes. The competition radio has been operating since December last when it's predecessor, now the test radio, had a failed RF module. I copied the model files from ...
