How about using the ANYLINK module on the trainer port for channels 8-16? Seems to me like that's a cheap, simple and fairly clean solution that would render several benefits. Of course you would need to use a different type (one compatible with anylink) RX for channels 8-16. What's the downside?

So.... assuming you have updated your firmware.... let's say you WERE using the training port for the AnyLink. Wouldn't you be able to assign the OTHER 8 channels to it?
