Re: Stock/er9x Rotary Encoder
Using a test meter measure the voltage on the connection on the Arduino. To expand on that: Get a multimeter, preferably a digital one. Harbor Freight (a bargain tool store in the US) sells them for less than $10, so hunt around a little and you should be able to find something affordable. Plug the...

Also the top right pad of the top switch. Yes, the encoder board design needs two jumpers (or a tweak to the etch resist) to be used with the Sky9X.

i still don't understand diffirence between pin 9 and 10 ,although both create signal PPM Pin 10 is connected to the transmitter module, as well as the 4066 circuit. Pin 9 goes only to the 4066 circuit. The 4066 circuit controls whether the trainer jack (the headphone-style jack on the back of the ...

Re: Miniature joystick for camera
Yeah, the PSP thumb slide stick doesn't center very well. I suppose the centering spring isn't enough to overcome friction at stick center. I had to program a pretty wide dead-band on my gimbal control mixes. I wonder if the PS Vita stick is any better.

Re: er9x development
Ah, ok. How about skip the on/off setting, and use the single eeprom bit you save as part of the decimal value? Values of 0-31 would come out to 0-6.2 seconds in 0.2 second increments. You would get the greater resolution as well as extend the functional range. Perhaps even make it an exponential fu...

Or perhaps rather than mysterious integer values, you could use decimal values that correspond to standard measurable quantities, i.e. seconds per full swing.

Sounds good. As another example of possible telemetry mix uses, I had a fixed-pitch blade 120 SR heli (not that telemetry would be an option in this case - i'm using it as a functional example) that needed yaw (rudder) trim as the battery ran down. While that's probably an engineering issue with the...

Did discover that adjusting the weight of the throttle mix down beyond 60 while the model was active but idle on the ground caused the rotors to suddenly start spinning up Yeah, I think that's what it's supposed to do. -100 on the throttle stick -> scaled to 60% by the mix -> -60 applied to the thr...

'model matching' Indeed, though ModelMatch is a Spektrum/Horizon Hobby trademark. Re: er9x development
That's because it isn't a two-way link. er9x spits out a PPM stream and assumes something is there to listen to it. In the case of R/C, it's a transmitter module. The module is never told which receiver/model it's trying to control - it broadcasts the PPM data along with a transmitter identifier. Th...

I'm not familiar with heli programming, what is the right stick up/down supposed to do? If you're on mode 2, it would be cyclic pitch (same action as elevator on a fixed-wing). Left/right on the right stick is cyclic roll (same action as ailerons), left/right on the left stick is yaw (tail rotor bl...

Re: Taranis and Haptic feedback
I recall someone telling me that the Taranis processor has an unused serial port for just such expansions. Toss a DIP form factor Arduino in there, and you've got gobs of expansion possibilities. Use a pin for haptic, 3 for RGB backlight, an alert flasher LED, whatever. The Arduino (or some other SO...

Re: FrSky officially X9D announcement
So does it matter if I use it with my Taranis? No, that should be fine. The mods to the FrSky module and traces on the back panel of your radio make use of two of the (otherwise unused) module socket pins to carry telemetry data. The unused pin gets isolated on your FlySky module so it doesn't shor...

Would the 2561 bin work on a 1281? If so, I've got a 1281, spare 9X and rework equipment on hand to install it. I guess I could just order a 2561, but I'd rather not throw the money at it until the additional flash (4x the m64 chip) is needed.

If I may ask, why the m128? If people are going through the trouble of replacing the processor, why not a pin-compatable part with more RAM like the m1281?
