Re: 9Xtreme Add 2nd Internal XJT Mod
With regards to the telemetry, you could still leverage the use of the optional lcd screen? thumb-P1280537.jpg right? Conceptually... I wonder if we could 3d print a "9x backpack" that would allow the two units to sit "side by side" with the antenna of one unit 90deg to the other...

Re: speaker hiss
I am definitely "very impressed" with the capability that this new board provides. It's worth a few teething problems.

Re: speaker hiss
Can someone post a video of what the unit is supposed to sound like?
Is it clear? Does it whine? Does it clip?

Re: speaker hiss
To be clear my major issue is the clicking. The background whine is an annoyance that I can deal with, but it is audible. The phone doesn't seem to be picking up the audio very well with an audio recording, but you can hear the whine clearly on the video's that I've posted. The whine and clicking ha...

Re: speaker hiss
I see no noticeable difference in any of the settings. The audio below was taken with I2C off / Hardware off (hopefully .m4a is okay as it's all my phone seems to record in).jhsa wrote:You mean with i2c on and off? Not hardware?

Re: speaker hiss
Updated the firmware to the latest.
Still have the hiss, and still have the warble with voice playback. I have tested with hardware on and off...no difference for me.

Well now that you're all very impressed with my time travel capabilities… I should probably tell you that the forum software allows you to go back and edit your original post . I believe that I updated the firmware… And then fix the post that I had initially posted . That being said I will upgrade t...

Re: speaker hiss
I'll take a video in the am so you can see / hear for yourself, but I upgraded the firmware and ran the tests...there's no change in the clicking at all (from what I can hear). Yup, one of the first to do it. No noticeable changes for me. I used the first test version (the version posted below). er...

Re: speaker hiss
So I've been playing around with my transmitter, setting up telemetry and I'm not sure if I've stumbled across something or not. I have the FRSKY D8R Plus II receiver in my bird, and have channel A1 setup as an internal voltage monitor. This seems to work fine, and I get a solid 5.0V across the tele...

Re: speaker hiss
I don't think it is a speaker issue. There is definitely something coupling SD card accesses to the audio. The question now is what, and why on only a few boards! I'll see if Steven can send me the tracking to see if there might be a fault on one or two boards where certain tracks are close togethe...

Yeah, it's packed in pretty good.
I'm not sure I can confirm it's a speaker issue or not...but I haven't hit the electronics shop yet to check out the speaker options.

Re: speaker hiss
It seems this one board may have some coupling between the SD card signals and the audio signal. Another test to try please, go into the MODEL SELECT menu, pres menu to get the popup, then choose BACKUP. THis will write the currently highlighted model to the SD card, thus causing SD card accesses. ...

Re: speaker hiss
So I took another video, the high pitched noise I can deal with...outside it's not really an issue. For me it's the "voice clicking" issue that kind of annoys me...and I can confirm that if I boot via the bootloader with the module in place...it's quiet. *UPDATE* In my unit it's the same n...

speaker hiss
I noticed that the hissing changed if I changed the external transmitter PPM from 300usec to some other value. On some settings the hissing even stopped completely. Perhaps this can help to find the source? We may be looking at two issues then. I played around with my transmitter last evening, and ...

confirm that the pins are straight up and down, or whether they are "leaning" at all? They will always be leaning to some degree. It is not possible to get them perfectly straight, nor do they need to be. They really don't even have to be all that close to do their job. I can't imagine th...

Re: speaker hiss
Please note that I took the video in a very quiet room. I'd like to add a couple of notes based on my poking around. 1. I don't believe it to be the LED panel. In my poking around I took the panel out and fired the unit up and it still crackled. 2. The speaker appears to make the noise regardless of...

Re: speaker hiss
It's reassuring to see someone else having a similiar issue...it's not a show-stopper by any means. So...the board is stock, and the frsky cable is not currently installed. I will take it apart again this evening. Previously I was running er9x with the 2.4 board with zero issues. To me it seems like the speaker gain is somehow too high. I'll re-route and see what happens. Sent from my iPhone using...

Re: speaker hiss
I'm thinking I might open the case up later (or tomorrow) to mod the back for the telemetry cable, I'll take a look at the wire path...it's not a show stopper, but it's perhaps a better highlight of the hiss some of us are getting.
