Re: Pololu usb avr programmer

Yea, so a few years later I forgot how to do this and was googling, found my own thread, and it wasn't helpful because I never anwswered. :o So...... I figured it out again, and will now post the answer: Insert the pololu usb avr programmer and make sure all of the drivers and such are installed for...

Re: Must have items on your electronic workbench

I have the rigol scope and it's really worth every penny. I didn't soft mode mine either, 50mhz is plenty for what I do.

For my logic analyzer i bought a saleae. I must say that it is a wonderful tool. Once you get the software decoder setup you can see everything.

Re: What battery voltage is safe?

I like the eneloop batteries. They hold a charge for a long time, but don't have charging requirements that involve removing the battery to get to the balance tap.

I just plug the rx into my power lab with a pigtail and hit go.

Re: DSM2 Range Check

Agreed. I think it should be a menu item. If the item is selected and you hold a key it's in range check mode.

I think that would be way better than anything that can possibly be triggered while flying.

Re: Pololu usb avr programmer

I just happened to come across this thread while searching for another and wanted to mention I have the same programmer and it works fine. I'm not sure what settings I used off the top of my head (same settings I use to program anything else) but it does work fine.

Re: battery for er9x?

Another option is the sanyo eneloops. They are 2000mah, don't have a balance tap, and they will sit on the self almost as long as the lithium batteries without self discharge. Plug the charger into the charge port, set it for 2000mah nimh and your done. Also, if you over discharge them they won't ca...

Re: Another way to hook up a DSM module.

The deal with the recall is that the firmware on the first DSMX rf modules caused the low power specktrum DSM2 modules (anything below a AR7000) to hang, then the watchdog resets them. So a good way to figure out if you are affected is to get the TX bound to an old AR6200 or AR6100 then leave it run...

Re: Another way to hook up a DSM module.

Yea, nice catch. I did wire it correctly, but my schematic is wrong. I'll fix it and repost since I don't want someone following in my footsteps and running into trouble.

I'll break out my scope later today and test this stuff to make sure it's clean.

Another way to hook up a DSM module.

Looking for some thoughts and feedback on how I did this. The ideas is to get the best reliability possible since I plan to fly expensive stuff with my dsm2 conversion. I took a DSM2/DSMX module out of a DX4e then used this device to do the ttl level conversion: https://www.sparkfun.com/products/104...

Which DSMX module to get.

I'm going to pick up a dx4e or dx5e for the module, but before I do, I wanted to check here to see if one module is better than the other or are they the same.

Thanks,
Schu
