Reviving a Multiplex Cockpit SX transmitter

Some time ago I got a Multiplex Cockpit SX transmitter with defective electronics. As the mechanics of that transmitter are really good, I was hoping to rebuild the required electronics in the way of the ER9x. I didn't want to have the voice module or a trainer connector as the original radio had it...

regarding to intermittend compile errors with the Arduino IDE There is/ or was? a problem with the linker (at least until the version 1.8.0 that I still use). Status of Logic switch LI no longer displayed

SInce the Git updates of 2019-07-30 the status of the IDx switch is shown on the system page that shows the status of hardware and logic switches. That shifted all the following LSx switches one position to the end, thereby loosing the last logic switch LI from the last subview. The TRN switch displ...

Re: 9XR Pro connection issues

That delay is still there, exactly as with your original programming.

In your programming, you use three logic switches (L6, L7 and LA) that can be replaced with a single one (LB in my example) that has the same functionality. Just another way of programming for the same thing.

Re: 9XR Pro connection issues

I had a look into your file and here are some comments You can get the function of the three switches L8,L9,LA with a single switch of |v| > val Rud 96 ( |v| means absolut value of v, gives always a positiv value for v from -100 to +100) You probably connect Switches to Ch7 and Ch8 to power on/off t...

Re: How to mix the input from two sticks to control 2 motors

@pstimpel: The solution given above can slow the inner motor down to 0. Here comes a more advanced setup that can drive the inner motor to full reverse speed. This is what I have for a 2 motor ship, but in the endeffect does the same for a bagger or a tank. But in the moment this setup is for a mode...

Try the following: CH01 -100% RUD * +100% THR (This is a multiply mix!!) +100% THR Curve(c9) CH02 +100% RUD * +100% THR (This is a multiply mix!!) +100% THR Curve(c9) Curve C9 100, 67, 33, 0,0,0,-33, -67, -100 The curve is not required, but gives you a wide dead zone around neutral, so that both mot...

Reversing a direction is either done in the limits menu (NOR/INV) or in a mix by changing the sign of an amount e.g. +100% => -100%

I installed this code
You could try flashing "ersky9xs_rom.bin" (the "small" version for the SKY board).
AND IT WORKED !!! :D

Thanks Mike,

But this is the second option.. (When we hold the trimms, just opposite than firmware update)
No, that didn't work either.

It was absolutely stuck in the "flash firmware" loop.

Re: Ersky9x Bug Reporting

Thanks Mike, I will try that and report back. In the meantime, in the intent to narrow down the problem I flashed the AR9x bootloader 3.2 onto one of my two 9XR-Pro's And now the 9xr-Pro has that same problem of looping . But with the difference, that I'm not able to anymore get into the maintenance...

Re: Ersky9x Bug Reporting

I used the same source code and compiled it for the 9XR-Pro.
And then updated the bootloader from that firmware file. The resultant bootloader on the 9XR-Pro was version 3.0. versus 3.2 on the AR9x.
And the 9XR-Pro had no problem with it.
Either version 3.2 or/and the AR9x has the problem.

Not in a hurry.
As long as bootloader 2.9 does its job, there is no problem.

I just ran into the following problem. Yesterday I downloaded the latest code from github and compiled it for 9XR Pro and for the AR9x board. So far everything ok. Firmware is running. With a basic 9x radio (with M128) , when using a simple scroll switch (scrolling plus one single switch) like this one https://openrcforums.com/forum/download ... &mode=view
is it possible to handle all menues or do I need additional switches ?

If you use the stock rf module, maybe this picture can help you to check the voltages.
There is one more regulator (3.3V) on the rf board

In the mixer setup there is the "Multiplex" selection with "ADD", "Multiply" and "Replace"

Select "Replace" and it will show the line with ":=" instead of "+="

Edit your er9x.hex file with a simple editor e.g. "Write" and verify the two lines I pasted in the above post.
Only to verify, if your file is the same as ours (at least at that position of the file).
