preparing 9x for Flash upgrade

Hi All

Can I ask if the following unit would this be suitable to use for flashing the 9x?

I would like to fit a 10pin IDC socket into the side of the 9x but I cannot fine any pre wired 10 pin sockets to take the cable that is fitted to the usb programer,
Could I use this inside the case as its small But then only has 6 wires? will it be OK?

I alsoI thought that if I was to remove the box from the above USB programmer unit (the first item) then it might be small enough to fit in the case.

If you want to mount the programmer in the transmitter you are probably better off with any of the other USBASPs available since this one seems to be twice as wide as the other devices.
The female USB port is nice though. Most programmers have a male contact and are meant to be plugged into the side of the computer which is a bit akward.

Are you planning to use the programmer for other projects? If not then you could just take one end off of the cable and solder those wires directly to the board. If you do want the programmer for other things then you need to find a suitable connector. The second like you posted has a good connector but will require some work. If it were me I would desolder the 10-pin side of that and then connect the wires directly to it. No need to worry about the 6 pin side. Here is a link to the pinout of that 10-pin connector.
