Hi Gang
I was wondering if someone could explain what the difference is between File/Preferences/Processor and Burn/Configure/mcu? I've read the new Turnigy 9XR boards come with a better chip.
Cheers

Re: File/Preferences/Processor vs Burn/Configure/mcu
File/Preferences/Processor is used to determine the size of the EEPROM. The original ATMEGA64A has 2K of EEPROM while the ATMEGA128 (as now used on the 9XR) and the ATMEGA2561 have 4K of EEPROM. It is also used if you create a new (blank) EEPROM within eepe to set the EEPROM size to be used.
Burn/Configure/mcu is used to pass the correct parameter to AVRDUDE when reading/writing either the flash or EEPROM memories. Extra processors are listed here as some people use eepe to flash other devices (e.g. the ATMEGA328 on the megasound board).

Re: File/Preferences/Processor vs Burn/Configure/mcu
Hi MikeB
Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. So am I correct in thinking that if I want to 'Flash Firmware' and 'Write EEPROM' on my Turnigy 9X I need to set both of these to M64? Alternatively, if I want to 'Flash Firmware' and 'Write EEPROM' on my Turnigy 9XR I need to set both of these to M128?
Cheers

Yes (assuming the 9XR has a '128).

Hi MikeB
I just received a new board for my Turnigy 9XR which I believe to be a 128. I really appreciate the heads up.
Cheers
