Replacement gimbals, pots, switches, even the main board are now available. I wonder if the gimbals will work in the 9x.

The switches in the 9xr are really good (although placed in the wrong places). I will certainly buy some of those as spares.
The gimbals in the 9xr are worse than the 9x gimbals in nearly every aspect, so there is no point in replacing a working 9x gimbal. But I agree that it would be good to know if it is possible to replace a broken 9x gimbal. The potentiometers are however not drop in replacements. They do not look the same.

I'LL wait for the taranis gimbals and then probably replace my working 9x gimbals with them

The LCD display will only work the 9XR board , it will not work with a 9x main board.

$5 retail for the Sticks ! ...no wonder theres no quality to them.

Unfortunately not, all the connections and the mounting holes are different.
