True that. Heck, not even a prediction -- I just yanked it out of thin air. But it will prove to be an amazingly accurate guess.

Here is the latest from Wayne @ Aloft:

" It currently looks like the radio will land here at Aloft just prior to our relocating up to the San Francisco area. My goal will be to ship out all of the radios prior to relocating. I suspect we will get them all shipped in a single day."

When asked how many he will be receiving he replied:

"Not enough.
The second batch will be about 2 weeks later."

Somebody I don't know named Cumbernauld whose from Scotland posted: If it's any help I received this email from my supplier in the UK.

FrSky will be sending our first batch of Taranis end of May/ first week of June. This first batch has been allocated to pre-orders only and will not be on sale via our website.

http://www.microtechnics.eu/ has the following on their webpage:

"According to the latest communication FrSKY, radios should be available to us in the vicinity of 15 June

Applications order confirmation will be sent shortly following the list of bookings already received.
This list is now reopened to save reservation requests for the second batch "

Nothing from aloft yet my current local frsky supplier.
No formal sign up list that I know of.
Just a news letter sign up.
I hope California isn't the tail of the dragon but closer to the head.

We are the head. :)

We are waiting for word from FrSky. Once we have a shipping commitment from them we will open up our pre-buy, and we will announce via our newsletter. You can sign up for our newsletter on the bottom right corner of the web site. :)

Thanks Wayne, I was hoping you we're the head. Any chance those that have been ordering from aloft all along could be moved up on the email notice list?
That would be a real thank you for our support.
No reply required, just wanted to put the idea out there.

One last question about signing up for the news letter.
How do we know we are signed up?

That is a problem. I thought I signed up for the newsletter. But the sign up box showed next time I signed on, so signed up, I thought, again. But it told me I had had my name removed this time. I sure hope I'm on the sign up now. I ordered some receivers just to make sure I would have them, and hopefully, ensure I was on the customer list.

Great delivery on the items I ordered, sooner than I expected and in perfect shape.

Yes, our software has a little bug. Just ignore any messages about being signed off. It does that if you try to sign up multiple times, but it does not actually remove you. I hate computers sometimes. We will be overhauling the web site one of these days.. Yuk! The site is pretty lame for mobile users too.

I received an email today from a hobby shop I'm not sure I've done business with before about getting on the Taranis pre order list.
I'm hounding out for aloft to send me the same message so here's the other site.
Only the tx offered.
Os this the real deal?

"Hobbyists, How are you? I do hope you have fun flying at fly season!
I visited FrSky factory and saw real radio some days ago, now we are prepared to pre-sale the first batch of Taranis radio. You can check some photos from our Facebook, http://www.facebook.com/superiorhobby Feel free to like SH(Superior Hobby)!

FrSky just confirmed that they will not be getting radios in the first batch, so you have been warned. Only Premiere Dealers are getting radios in any quantity.

I really like that they have stolen their pictures and text from our site. :(

I'll expand on what Wayne said and read between the lines. Here is a direct quote from FrSky:

FrSky only guarantee to provide the first batch to the following three premier dealers so far:
Aloft Hobbies in USA
T9hobbysport in UK
Microtechnics in Belgium

Other dealers could only have several units for testing. Please take note, thanks!

Reading between the lines -- given that FrSky has been very silent on any issue for the past few months and broke silence in this situation -- My WAG is that this dealer will be at the bottom of FrSky's list for getting Transmitters. They will be in limited quantity so FrSky could well hang them out to dry.

The real give away to avoid their email is it came to several email addresses I've used in the last year, one only used one time early last year to purchase from a Chinese hobby supplier. Either they shared my addresses or they have different names for the same supplier?
I've never bought from this one ever?
I posted it to get a reaction and alert others if it did. It did, and thank you both for commenting on the real facts.
I do however, check my email address given to aloft regularly in hopes I'll get a message saying I can order.

Got a mail from microtechnics.eu today..
"According to last communication received from FrSKY, first batch should be available here around middle of June.
All the reservations received for the first batch will be fulfilled, including yours if you want. (plus some reservations made for the second batch)
If it is the case, please confirm your preference for Mode1 (gas to the right) or Mode 2 (gas to the left) and indicate if you wish to receive at the same time one or several receivers or other items so that I can reserve them to you also."
so.. getting ready to spend some money. ;)

My guess is that they will fly off the shelves faster than this Taranis...

Banggood is taking orders.
Good way to tie up your money I'm thinking.

For US customer it is probably better off to order from alofthobby when in stock. Banggood just takes the money and wait till in stock that would be about the same time alofthobby will get it. Then it takes 3 wks from the day they ship out the goods to reach US customer. All the orders I made at Banggodd takes exactly 21 days to reach my door AFTER it is shipped (not the time the order is placed or processed).
