Possibility of a hybrid Radio GCS running openTX

openTx has introduced a range of new features, ideas and bling. It is fast becoming the firmware of choice for many users. openTx will run on ALL current hardware platforms, including the gruvin9x and sky9x boards. Work has already started to support the new FrSky X9D radio!

Possibility of a hybrid Radio GCS running openTX

Post by lorenjz »

I'm curious if it would be possible to port openTx to a beaglebone black or something similar to create a radio capable of running GCS software as well as function as a transmitter. If it is possible does anyone have any suggestions as to a starting point with a project like this?

Thanks,

Loren

It shouldn't be a problem. What would be the LCD?

My thought was to start with a turnigy 9x and use its LCD to display model info and the "standard" transmitter info. I would use something like this: http://www.amazon.com/Lilliput-Frame-To ... B005TX3HSA to display the computer side of things.
