Looking for a 9XR LCD

Hi,

A colleague of mine just got his 9XR from HK:



He says everything is 'almost Ok', but the LCD is broken.

Anyone selling native 9XR LCDs?
Or is there a known procedure to get a similar / compatible LCD up and running?

You should start by complaining at HK...

I agree...

In fact, he was very unlucky with this order, as he got into the "new year peak" issue and waited for his shipment for the whole 3 months. And when he got it - it was in that state... He probably shouldn't have accepted the shipment at all, so that they just return it to HK. But he had FrSky RF module in that order as well (which arrived Ok, at least without physical damages), so he decided he will better take it 'as is' rather than spend several more months waiting for a refund or for another parcel.

Considering the situation, he doesn't put much hopes into HK's customer support (although he will place a claim).

So he's looking for possible ways to get his radio working... An alternative way would be to order another 9XR, and keep this one for spares...

Are you sure that Is the LCD? Did you have a look inside? Could be as simple as a connector out of place. Or the contrast not set properly.

You can see the LCD is completely cracked from the black zones under the shattered window.

I don't remember seeing direct spares for the 9XR, but see this:

Yeah, the LCD itself is definitely dead.

Found an LCD from a 9XR (offered by a user on a local Russian forum).

Radio works, the owner is happy!
