Micro sd card

Post by ShowMaster »

I need to buy some news to sd cards. I know I can use 4 & 8 gb and maybe 16gb cards for the skyboards.
What I'm looking for is a practical size all for
skyboards, megasound board and a Taranis (future).

My confusion is what we'll be able to store on these sd cards as the FW is updated. I can get a better price ordering 5 at a time but I'm not sure of the size I want.
Any recommendations?

Well. I am not sure you are really in need of more than 4gb.

That us a huge amount of space!

Voice pack takes like 2MB, model bitmaps about 1kB each, models a couple of kB each...
Logs maybe 100kB-1MB / flight, so you'll be hard pressed to even fill up a 256MB card.

Thanks, 4gb would be ok.
Small memory size sd cards are pretty much gone from local stores. 8 gb up are stocked. I'm off to the Internet to see what I can find.

And to think that it wasn't all that long ago when just over 7Mb was the capacity of the unit below.
IBM 2311
IBM 2311
It has a removable disk pack which was handy. :)

You are correct Kaos. The capacity is 7.25 Mb. More info here -----> http://www.columbia.edu/cu/computinghistory/2311.html

In my storage locker I just found 3 plastic cases filled with every semiconductor part as well as memory to repair or build a apple II +. Even programmed proms and obsolete disk drive ic's.
Those were fun days! I serviced 9 of them for a tv show called tic-tac- dough.
What can I do with 100 7400 series ic's?
Maybe buy a cheap eBay APII+?
Any chance eepe or open9x will be written for dos? I have 16K of ram.
Anyone need to repair their APII+.
Ok, off topic but fun to find.

I remember when it was a bargain to find some 1Mb RAM chips for an 8086 series for under $100 USD. Those were not necessarily the "good old days".

1Mb chips! You were lucky, I had 16 1Kbit chips for the first computer I built!

I had a ZX81 with a 16K add on memory pack and that was state of the art. After typing hundreds of lines of code one usually found that the PCB connector moved and the code got dumped :(

Sore fingers too with the membrane keyboard :D

I think my iPod touch is a repackaged ZX81 from your description of lost typing. Actually the ver 5 is much better then my last one as long as its not on charge while I'm typing.
