Stock turnigy/flysky antenna replacement
Has anyone replaced the stock antenna on the stock (v2) flysky/turnigy module in the 9x, with a higher db or other type antenna with any good results?

Do you mean just the antenna? Or the whole module?
Personally.. change the module to FrSky and you never look back!

Slope Soaring, FPV, and pretty much anything 'high tech'

Antenna only...
I have the frysky on the way but it will take a long time...
So I want to increase the range on the stock module with a high gain antenna

Re: Stock turnigy/flysky antenna replacement
Just some background..I am trying to convert a micro quad (with brick rx compatible only to flysky) to a kilometer In Range fpv and ap platform..so far I have flown round trips of 800m to 1km but have only managed to reach 330 to 350 meters one way and 300meters high... After that the rc is patchy...
So changing the rx for this specific application is not an option...
(On my planes it's different)
Have to try and eek out. Ore range on the stock module..

Re: Stock turnigy/flysky antenna replacement
Yeah but I have read a few threads/posts here that say the rf circuit is special to the balun antenna installed already..
Someone posted after replacing their stock antenna their range dropped to a few meters only..
I don't really want to bugger up the stock ..
Hence I was checking if anyone else had done an antenna replacement ...successfully

Hey dude!
I'm currently rebuilding my 9x with a homebrew DSM2 module. My solution was to solder a uFL jack to the edge of the FlySky TX module so I can recycle the Spektrum antenna that came with my X1TXN module; it has a uFL connector already on the cable. I'll let you know what my results are...
