Thanks for the link.

The dev teams seem working hard to bridge the gap with HK. Better to work together for the good of all.

how would I get a simple unified diff from the website listed above ? You know. a patch input file that would change the er9x into the hk firmware. For me that is the easiest way to view the changes made, not that I would understand them all, but I could get a feel for how much value they have added to the firmware :)

Had a look out of couriosity to the code

As far as i understood the diff files, they removed the diagnostic version screen and added the reverse screen. They modified the templates, removing the sticky throttle cut template and changing the simple 4-channel to 6 channel.

Then there are some minor modifications where I don't know what they are good for (I'm no C++ programmer) and in a lot of modified modules they only removed some 'white space' .

The best way to view the changes HK made is to click the little "+" on each file here.
http://code.google.com/p/tgy9x/source/detail?r=3

Thats exactly why dvogonen has set this up.

I just compiled the basic version and installed it on my TGY9X radio

It even accepted the r780 eeprom

This are some pictures

The welcome logo.
The bottom line is the normal owner name where I write in the type of battery that I use for that radio

The heli setup menu. Not sure if that has changed (the direction lines) as I don't normally use it.

The modified 6-channel model with predefined gear and ID0/1/2 switch

They really should fix the bug on the screen number (the white vertical line between / and 11), it's not beautiful!

Thanks for the response.
Here is another way of looking at basically the same information all at once. It may or may not be helpful.

the attached diff was created using the following commands.

Code: Select all

svn checkout -r 762 http://er9x.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/ er9x-read-only
wget http://turnigy9xr.com/source/tgy-9XRv1-1.rar
unrar x tgy-9XRv1-1.rar
diff -x s9xsplash.lbm -x s9xsplash.xbm -rubB er9x-read-only/src/ 9XR/src/ > diff.txt # ignore splash screens
grep ^Only diff.txt # for information only, shows files not in both directories

Please help, my turnigy 9xr radio is doing strange things. My plane I had to re-bind after it lost connection. The radio when switched on would beep as normal, then after 5-10 seconds a longer beep will sound and the radio will not bind.

After many times switching on and off the radio, then it did bind and after switching on it only beeped once as normal. I continue to fly plane and during flight I had 3 brownout but no crashes. The ariel was at an angle to the plane.

Please help.

The radio beeps if there is some kind of warning when you turn it on. If you are using an OrangeRX transmitter module in your radio, the module also has a beeper. It will beep one time a few seconds after the module has gotten power. It should most definitely not beep twice.

The fact that you have a hard time binding your receiver and the 3 control losses is worrying. Start by checking that the pins in the module contact are straight. A slightly bent pin could cause the module to reset. Then check the antennas of the transmitter and the receiver. A radio with a broken antenna will often work, but has a very limited range. Before you fly again you should do a proper range check.
