Post # 78 has a beta style 9ch dsm2 er9x

Make sure you set your protocol to dsm2 or whichever flavour.

Post a pic(s) up of how you hooked it up, diode, resistors, etc etc

ya i already tried that it just refuses to bind with this module and i had it hooked up the same way as a rev C1 board i have and that one works beautifully i think something in the rev b board's firmware just doesnt play well with er9x or any custom firmware from what i can gather
dunno i got it out of a dm8 drop in module for a futaba radio; it does have a microcontroller board for ppm encoding maybe it had some command for the module to work right

Thanks, anybody have a wiring diagram to connect to the 9x ?

I presume model-match will also work with the current er9x firmware ?

you could set the pulse to neg in the model setup menu. It's below the protocol selection.
(I've used both on the rtx modules I use, with no difference in operation)

after digging alot, I find out that ar9000 series are NOT compatible with dx6 module... which happens to be the same from the hp6dsm eflight radio.. go figure. going to implant a 4xe dsm/x module this weekend and try them again. (didn't want to butcher another radio, but.. it's for progress.. why not.)

Interesting.... It does look like it only needs ppm to run. In that case choosing ppm, 12 ch and messing around with the frame length and spacing should do the trick.
Very interested on hearing your result! This could be very important.

About modelmatch, do the multiplex radios support it? If so we may be able to as well. All we need is someone with a multiplex radio and an oscilloscope. If someone is near me I'd be glad to do the analysis.

BEWARE - WE ARE IN THE AIR!!!
What goes up... Should be controlled by a 9X!

Model match with dsm already works...

With atmx11 it's the same as all the other hp modules. 1 gnd, 2vcc(power) , 6 ppm. Diode on ppm, seperate clean power to vcc, and bridge pin 2 to 6 and bob's your uncle.

12ch, nice. I think the dsm protocol used right now only does 6 . Tried 9 to see if an ar9000 would work. But i think Pat went back to 6... I could be wrong.

But it's only true, if you directly select a thread.

No, unless it says so on the tx. Module from hp6dsm is just dsm2.

And, unless you plan on flying with 200 other people, dsm2 is just fine.

Is there different TX power levels on dsm2 modules like the dx4i or the dx6e ?

Hp modules need their own regulated source. Lp do not. You will brown out by not supplying proper voltage levels... This is an automated response script... Beep.

The firmware does the same three modes that are mentioned in the DX4e manual, + range check in each: "France" mode, DSM2 only and DSMx
Dx4e module supports all three modes. LPx modules are unaffected by the choice of mode. (i.e. they work the same in all modes and no range check ability)

According to Andy Kunz "France" mode is not lower power, but simply uses less of the 2.4 band.

you meen bridge pin 2 to 6 with a 4k7 resistor ??? not bridge with a wire.
My er9x just keeps rebooting with dx5e module.

Your tx is browning out...

It's been pointed out many times, and in different threads.

Hp (high power) modules, require a seperate 3.3 source, otherwise they brownout... Reset. Lp modules lp4dsm, don't require a seperate source. I would as a matter of safety use a seperate source to be on the safe side.

If you look at the pics posted and the schematics, its a 4k7 resistor that bridges pin 2 an 6, don't forgett the diode for ppm.

ok, that makes sense. I have plenty 3.3 1A regs. Yes, I have the diode in also.
To bind, you hold the TRN switch and then let go after the logo ?
