USB Device not recognized

I have just installed my new 9Xtreme board and it is working fine. I need to load the updated firmware and have run into problems. I put the transmitter in boot loader mode and then connect the USB cable between the computer and the transmitter. The computer make sound indicating it found a new connection but then the computer displays a message that the last USB Device you connected to this computer has malfunctioned and windows does not recognize it. When I unplug the cable the message goes away but re-connecting it the message returns. I have tried two cables and two different computers.
Any assistance would be appreciated.

Try plugging in the USB cable with the radio not powered. This should get the STM DFU bootloader. If this doesn't work, then there is probably a connection problem on the internal USB wiring.
