9xr throttle friction

Post by barneyg »

I'm just getting back into RC stuff after many many years and I've just got a 9xr (mode 2) ... one thing I've noticed and that was mentioned elsewhere was that the throttle gradually gets stiffer as you move it upwards but I've not found any pages that detail a fix. Since I'm new to this I'm not actually sure that having more resistance as the throttle increases is a bad thing though :)

The throttle hold is a very simple mechanism. It is merely a blade spring that is held gently against the back of your throttle stick (inside the radio). The tension can be adjusted by tightening or loosening one of two screws that hold it in place.
Either the spring is off-center (I think it can be turned in two different ways), or something else is restricting stick movement at the end of the stick travel.
If you want to fix it you simply open the radio, loosen the blade spring and check that the stick moves freely and that the spring is mounted correctly.
