No Bootloader screen on X9D

Post by ozzybear »

The radio is a X9D and easily updates in the 2.1.9 version of companion with the 2.1.9 firmware.

In the radio setting screen the "Frsky Taranis" option is selected. i.e. not Frsky Taranis Plus

With the radio off and not usb connected the 3 finger start does not produce the boot loader screen but boots up in normal mode.

The STM32 Boot loader is present in Device manager in Windows 10.

The radio itself indicates that the loaded firmware is version 2.1.9. In normal boot up mode the radio is functional

Any help is much appreciated as I have trolled the web for hours with no luck.

If you upgraded from the stock frsky firmware, you have to flash the bootloader. This is not done during the upgrade. Go to the file browser on the taranis and select the firmware file. A menu will pop up and you have the option to flash the bootloader.
