Using a phrase/Multiple word announce

Post by davidja »

I cant find anything when I search this but I'm sure i've missed something.
Is there a way to add announcement words.
e.g I have a sound file "Reset" and one called "timer" but I want it to say "reset timer"
Similarly contdown say 5, 4, 3, etc - I want it to say 5 Minutes remaining, 4 minutes remaining, etc.
Appreciate any help.

Then use a simple sound program to merge "reset" and "timer" to one wav file.

I use audacity under linux for that, but audacity works also under windows.

Why don't you just create a new voice file with the complete sentence?

As I suggested above, why don't you just create a new phrase? Less work than merging words and a Better result..

Your opinion ;)

Needed a "gpson" and a "gpsoff", and I am using amber. Tell me, how to CREATE that, so it fits amber sound pack ...?
With audacity I open gps.wav, add on.wav and save the result with a new name. Simple, like that.

Here is the result
gpson.wav.zip

Ahhh, ok. AMBER.. The dead voice syndrome.. :)
The problem with that voice is that you can't create your own stuff. If there aren't the words you need in the pack you have absolutely no way of creating your phrases with that voice.
Then you basically just don't.... Or you use another voice.. I personally don't like to mix different voices.

EDIT: How can he create the following??
I want it to say 5 Minutes remaining, 4 minutes remaining, etc.
Is there a "Remaining" word in the pack?

yeah, I guess. I always need lots of different phrases, so I guess I would not love it and i would leave it  but that's me.
I use a different firmware anyway. If I needed to sequence 2 or more words or phrases I could easily do it.. actually I think I do it already on a couple of models..

There is, if you put 2 Play Track special functions with the same trigger one after the other they will play in sequence. But it seems a bit of a waste of SFs when you can make a dedicated file.

Go to this web site and us it to create any phrases you want, some times you will have to type the words phonetically to get the words to be pronounced to your liking. http://www.acapela-group.com/ watch this video on how to use Acapela with Audacity. https://youtu.be/pi_KAbgJ3vE I've created many custom voice files for my Taranis all work well, my Taranis when turned on says "Hello David, lets go flying"
Cheers,

Dave W.
