charging issues taranis x9e

Post by pbratten »

Hello,

I just got a taranis x9e and am very excited to start using it...but, I am having some issues with getting it to turn on! I plugged in the battery last night and left it charging overnight. This morning, I noticed that the charge light was still flashing! Also, I cannot turn on the radio, regardless of whether it is plugged in to the wall power supply or not. I did verify that the battery was actually plugged in.

I am trying to figure out what is amiss. Is the charger faulty? Is it the battery? or is it operator error?

I noticed that the power supply that I have is 12v/0.5a output, but when you shop for a replacement power supply (http://www.helibatics.com/frsky-taranis ... -standard/) it shows 18v output.

Many thanks in advance for any help that you can offer.

Can you charge the battery external with anything else?

Original power supplies which comes with X9E and Horus are 18V / 500mA. Even for X9D it is 13V. So I guess 12V is way too low and that is exactly why you have issues.
