Hi,
When I save the Taranis log excel file in CSV (V2.1.9) format using Excel office 2010, then companion is unable to read it properly.
If I use the original logged file with companion then all works well. It is only when I save it that it does not work anymore.
Please advise how I can modify and save a log CSV file and still use it in companion.
I tried to save and keep the compatibility but that did not work. I have tried many things without success.
Thanks,

Don't use excel!
I open the csv files with a normal editor, make my modifications and save it again.
No issues that way.

Thanks Kalle123.
Can you suggest an editor?
Notepad does not preserve the column format.

Modifying in Notepad works fine for me, there preceisely needs not to be a column format.

Thanks. I will try this with notepad but I will need to format the strings with ASCII CR since they will be all bunched up together.

Hi,
After trying with Notepad and Word, yes it works but it is a lot of hassle to arrange/format the strings in comprehensive columns to edit.
How did you guys format the ASCII strings?
The log files can be huge and editing manually is far from being a short task.
Please advise.
Thanks

I am using Linux. Things are easier there ....
Just do a google search for "csv editor".
When you open a csv files with excel, modify it and save it again, you don't have a plain csv file, but an excel modified csv file.
That seems to be the problem.
