I am having strange random aileron inputs when I move the elevator stick. It tracked it down to what is perhaps a bad gimbal by looking at the [ANALOG INPUTS] screen and while I slowly move the elevator stick back [A3]. At random points [A4] jumps to strange numbers, sometimes as much as 100/-100 -- for example A3: HEXNUMBER -33 makes A4 go to A4: HEXNUMBER -100 -- but it isn't repeatable, I just moved the stick to A3: -33 and have 0 on A4.
Bad gimblal?

Or connection.
Try reseating the connections, inspecting for broken wires or pins not seated properly in the plastic shells.

That was the issue -- brown wire came off the pot. There really isn't much strain relief on any of those pot wires, kind of scary.

They still didn't fix that

I pulled the gimbal out, re-soldered the wire and added a blob of hot melt to the tops of each of the pots for strain relief.
