Eagletree Guardian - disable DR and expo in 2d mode

Post by CertaCito »

I'm still getting to grips with the programming on companion9x but I'm loving it! The problem I have is:

I have set up my DR and expos on a 3 way switch and Guardian is also set up on a 3 way switch (3d-off-2d), I set up the DR in the expos/DR tab on companion. In its current set up, the DR and expo will work in all 3 modes of the Guardian, however, I would like to program so that when in 2d mode I have 100% DR and no expo but the 3 DR's and expo's I have set would work in Guadian modes Off and 3d. (I hope that makes sense!)

How would I go about this?

Cheers
Barry

You could use custom switches to AND the switch positions you want.

I've had a go and I'm getting a bit lost with this, basically, I have:

Guardian on switch SE:
SE^3d
SE- guardian off
SEv 2d

I have DR and expo on switch SG
SG^ high rates
SG- mid rates
SGv low rates

At the moment all rates apply to all Guardian settings, in 2d this is bad as 2d mode already 'dumbs down' all throws and makes the plane very docile, if it were to have low rates on top of that it would hardly turn!!

What I need is:
When 2d mode is activated (SEv) the TX goes to high rate mode (SG^).

I think you are right in saying this can be done in Custom Switches but I can't seem to work out how? :(
Help.......

First I would put the high rates as the last item in the D/R list, with no switch.
Then for the mid rates, replace SG- with CS1, and set CS1 to AND SG- !SEv. Same with CS2 for the low rates, AND SGv !SEv.

Many thanks, having a go now!

Yep, that worked perfectly today, thanks again. First time I have used the Taranis and Strangely, I was getting RSSI warnings and the plane was about 100 yards in front of me (xr8 rx), that was a bit worrying, why would that happen? (Plane is a foamie trainer) I had the TX antenna off to the side parallel to the ground. Do the 2 rx antennas need to be in a certain configuration? It doesn't say so in the instructions?

If you put the guardian switch as the last rates line it will be the last to be operated on so if 2d active it will set the rate to 100% and no expo. Very easy.
