Electromagnetic wheel brakes - proportional control

Post by CraigKane »

Hi all,

I have a set of Electromagnetic wheel brakes on the main gear of my F4 Phantom model.
Currently, I have them operating via LS on my X9D but they are either ON or OFF.

Is there a way to make them proportional? I was thinking some sort of curve?

Thanks in advance

Craig

You need to link to your brake system to see how it works. Those I've seen cannot be controlled proportionally, and if you've already got it on a proportional contol but it works as on/off only it's most likely the case of yours.

I have been there. As Kilrah says, the electromagnetic brakes are not quite proportional, however, I was able to achieve some proportionality using one of the sliders in the Taranis. Another trick that you can try, is to use a lot of delay in the mixer Slow parameter. I only tried the slider, and later, once I learnt to make a shallow landing I eliminated them. On EDF planes and heavy planes we just add a 3mm long fuel tube to the main wheels shaft to produce some friction y help braking. Not high tech, but still works just fine.
