I just got my first Taranis (Q X7), and when going through the settings, I couldn't figure out what is the functional purpose of the "Country Code" setting.
There are currently 2 versions of firmware for the XJT radio (LBT and FCC), so the the country region behaviour will already be specific to the firmware.
I looked at the OpenTX manual and it doesn't specify the objective of the setting. I also looked at OpenTX source code, and I can see that the CountryCode is only sent to the XJT radio module during a BIND operation, as part of the bind flag in the PXX protocol, but what functional impact does it have during the operation of the radio? Does it change the signal strength? Does the XJT module remember the country code for each model already bound?
