I have a new X8R with paddle antenna that does not have plastic covers.
Is this normal now?
What to you think of them?

Re: new X8R with paddle antenna
It dose not sound right, Where did you purchase them ?
I went to Aloft Hobbies and found a picture showing no covers on the antennas: (http://alofthobbies.com/frsky-x8r-8-16- ... eiver.html). Looks like FrSky has made a change. It looks like the replacement paddle antennas still have covers. Bob B.

Yes that's normal. No experience though.

Perhaps people complained about the extra weight?
With the covers on you had to spend a little time roughing them up to make Velcro stick; the new style look easier in that regard.
I just wonder if they are more vulnerable to accidental damage?
