Hi,
Got one of the above to try out.
I can bind to a spektrum rx, the lights indicate bind successful, if I turn taranis off and on, the rx starts a single flash indicating loss of signal, so they are talking, but no matter what I select in the taranis, I can't make any servos respond.
Does anyone have any thoughts ?

Please provide a link so we can see the specifications of this unit.
What version of OpenTX are you using? How have you set the protocol?

I tried every single combination of protocols but none worked.

I think that version of OpenTX may not support the Multi protocol but more recent ones should. Anyway, no use speculating. You need to contact the OpenTX people on the firmware forum.

This is a simple PPM-based module with switches on it to select from 3 protocols, it's got nothing to do with the "multimodule" we usually refer to. Should most likely work with the default PPM settings.
It is likely not al receivers will work with it, maybe try another or at least mention what you're trying with, maybe someone has an idea. I've seen that thing on HK long ago but never saw anyone actually get / use one.

Good advice. For sure not all receivers work with all modules of supposedly the same protocol. Not even all Horizon Hobby products (e.g., the E-Flite SAFE receiver doesn't work with the Spektrum DM9 module -- this is acknowledged by Horizon). And Orange of course has a chequered history of incompatibility with whole classes of receivers (e.g., those in UMX models).
The only one that's reliably compatible is the DIY hack module using a genuine DSMX/DSM2 unit from a DX4e, DX5e or DX6i. It's limited to 6 channels though.
This is not to say your module won't work at all. It may with another type of receiver.
